DAVIE · Dolphins coach Nick Saban said he doesn't know why his defensive backs don't have more interceptions.

The Dolphins are tied for 30th in the NFL with three interceptions in seven games. The Lions also have three, and the Redskins are last with two.

Linebacker Zach Thomas has one interception, so the secondary has two, by Will Allen and Travis Daniels.

"We had our hands on three balls in the first half [Sunday vs. Green Bay] that we could've intercepted and we didn't," Saban said. "We need to look the ball in. We need to finish. We need to get our hands on them ... snatch them.

Nobody can catch, not the recievers, not the DB's, not anyone  Thing I dont understand is why Schulters isn't still playing the guy was much better than what we have out there now, he was cut and he was'nt picked up so we could still have resigned him.

Its Mularkey's fault...

i agree, its bad we only have three, our deffence seems to have only one major flaw so far, it cant get turnovers.

we should just hire a coach that specializes in catching, cause nobobody on our team can catch jack...

Lets move Mularkey to being in charge of offensive and defensive receiving. He has caught so much blame this year, he should be an expert in catching.

He stated that he would not play for the Dolphins, and I guess he's a man of his word.

*waits for flames*

but the reality is....Saban and his "specialty" with DBs has been laughable so far. I understand he has brought in younger players, however, someone of his "specialization" that gets raved about so much, wouldn't have a Defensive Backfield as terrible as ours.

Our DBs have gotten considerably worse in the last 2 years....they are suppose to be better. And don't give me this "it has only been 1.5yrs" crap, these guys played DB before they came here, they aren't learning from scratch.

We need to find players that can catch. I've lost count of how many balls we should have had but couldn't hold on. So the players are often in position, but catch like the ball is on fire.

how about that play in the packers enzone where like 3 of our db were jumping around getting their hands on it, but no one could snag it.

Like a circus!

That was Jason Allen and I think Tillman but it doesn't matter none of these guys play the ball on the deep pass. I honestly don't understand it week after week they come out and get beat badly by not playing the ball on deep passes same thing happens with Travis Daniels. I mean its elementary, you got two guys on the reciever and neither one of them play the ball, everytime it happens it is just a WTF? moment.

It's funny but everytime there is a loose ball on the ground or a pass hits one of our DB's in the hands they always look like they aren't expecting it.
They seem surprised that they are in a position to make a play.

There is a reason defensive backs starting playing db when they were young...they couldn't catch the ball well enough to play on offense!
