He was a great coach (motivating), he clearly didn't have a game strategy, but perhaps that problem could have been solved by a good OC and DC...

He was a coach who brought some good pieces to this puzzle, but he LIED to us..., he said that he wasn'y intrested in the Alabama job and when the lucrative matters came ahead, he clearly waived us saying "my heart is in college football", he also kind of wasted 2 years from us and some good players that we have that are about to retire such as Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor, eventhough I liked the direction he gave to this team until now.

Now, I feel like taking a HC who is familiarized with the NFL system and not a college guy...

GO PHINS!!!, LETS GET CAM CAMERON AS HC, KEEP DOM CAPERS AS DC AND GET SOME GREAT OC!!!

Saban departure hurts less because he ain't hot.

If available and for no more than '08 1st rounder, I take Cowher.

I would be alot more hurt if he had actually improved the team during his stint and if his leaving was actually a surprise.
But then neither really was, so Im not that hurt. Im actually excited. I think Saban took the wrong route. He put on band-aids instead of really fixing problems and I think it really blew up in his face. Im eager for a new HC to come in and fix things right this time and put us on a track to be SB champs for real and not pretend like Saban.

Its just that it hurts me, short ago, I saw him as the Dolphins savior, I just thought that he needed some more time and now I see him like a BLEEPIN' TRAITOR, not just because he left like he wouldn't have any compromise with this organization, but because he LIED to us (specially to Wayne Huzienga).

Its just sad!

Good Coach based on what? His losing record? His ability to talk out both sides of his mouth at the same time? His quitter attitude? Saban was overrated plain and simple. He had all the power to assemble a winning staff yet failed miserably and ow he's throwing his staff or "personnel guys" under the bus. He may have done well at LSU but the pro game is a different animal one saban didn't know how to train. You and your team are far better off with out Nick Bennedict Arnold Saban.

He was a great coach? On the NFL level? Seriously? I sympathize with your pain but strip away optimism and faith in Saban and this team is nowhere and going nowhere. Saban failed with this team and wasnt a good coach on this level. If that's how you see him, check to make sure your girlfriend wasnt a guy.

I'm treating this like a breakup too, except I realize that the relationship was full of unfulfilled promises and really wasn't all that good. Most people here are just afraid of being "single" again because that need somebody there in the HC position that they can love.

Erm, people know the new Head Coach isn't going to let them touch them up, don't they? I know it's 'head' coach but please don't read the wrong interpretation into it.

I have to admit, after the end of Saban's first season with us I really thought we were going in the right direction. At that time there was so much hope and optimism surrounding this team. Now, one year later, that hope is gone. It's very disapointing. In a way, we're starting over again.

I know a lot of people don't like Mularkey, but overall Saban did assemble an excellent coaching staff. I hope we can benefit from keeping most of these assistants under the new HC and maintain some stability while we improve this team.

Ok, my attempt at the positive side. We were handcuffed in salary cap you no where. He did fix that. We arent in PERFECT shape but he really didnt have much to work with in that catagory. I dont remember any other organization bringing in so many guys off the street and off of other teams practice squad to try them out, looking for that hidden talent. Might have been a product of the cap problems, maybe just due diligence, but no rock was left unturned. I also think the cap situation was A reason he signed so many older guys. Short contracts to clean up the mess. Of course that could be looked at as an attempt to 'win now.' The way he dealt with the cards he was given, I hold no grudge anymore. In fact, I hate not knowing who the next coach will be more than I hate that he left. He might be WIRED for the college game where he doesnt have to deal with the premadonnas of the pros. I am over it. He is gone. No more Kool-aid for me..................NEXT.
Although I would prefer a younger staff, like many of you, I also know WAYNE wants to win as much as I do, but I would be happy with Capers as the DC. CLEAN HOUSE for the rest of the staff.
