In yet another trademark media rant, Saban said there was no truth to an ESPN report before Sunday's game against the Bears that suggested the Dolphins were seriously considering replacing Joey Harrington with Cleo Lemon at quarterback.

''But if you write it, I guess somebody believes it and I have to answer it,'' he said. ``I'm going to write a column one day, and I'm going to get all of you in trouble.''

 , nice to see Saban's still got the humor with the press.

One reporter suggested Saban should have a ''happy meter'' installed in the media room so reporters could judge his state of emotions for the day. Saban laughed.

They should so have that. With sports psychologists telling him to go all Wanny and not rip the team (with Kuchenberg and Bokamper doing it instead), we want an accurate position on Saban's emotions.

Example:
Today's Saban Happy Meter Smiley is-

I just hope Saban is ripping the team behind closed doors, they sooo needed it.

From what's been around in the news, he hasn't. But hopefully more words out of Kuechenberg and Co. can continue sparking the Fins out of complacency.

No, they'll vote for cleo even if we get a young Marino clone.

No way. ESPN is probably getting their info from here, they finally figured out some posters here know more then Saban and his coaching staff.

About the only thing that will do that will be for Harrington to play better, although I think a large part of the problem in that area would be solved by better line play and a viable running threat.

As for the ESPN report, gotta wonder who their source was.

This is Miami we're talking about, so there will always be a QB controversey. I bet you can find threads for Daunte to start, Joey to start, Lemon to start, Vick to start, and Draft Brady Quinn all in the same day on this site!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess they'll also believe Ronnie Brown is a horrible RB.

So long as a QB not named Dan Marino or Bob Griese is starting, there'll always be a controversy in Miami. Heck even when those 2 were playing, there were controversies (i.e. Bench Marino for Huard).

Calls for Cleo? No...no I doubt that. It should quell any of those who believed that Saban was very close to putting Lemon out there at some point though.

I still think that a 2-pick half against the Chiefs where we're trailing could be all it takes at this point to see Cleo leading the charge in the second half. That's my opinion.

Let's hope we're not trailing against the Chiefs and Harrington doesn't throw 2 picks, it'd be nice to have some momentum for the rest of the season.

Brady Quinn? Heh.

Eh, not so much Quinn. I was hoping we'd draft Joe Thomas to be frank.
