Saban/Gus deny CP report

It was reported on ESPNs Cold Pizza that Saban sat down with Saban explaining Gus would at best be a backup in this organization and the team will persue another veteran QB. Frerotte was so upset he coniplated (sp?) retirement.

Now both Saban and Frerotte said that wasn't true. So what do we expect him to do? Will Gus really be our QB next year? Man i sure hope not. Thoughts and opinions please.

The other thing that bothers me, is how credited are these journalists? Seriously, how do you make a false report like that? It just kind of ticks me off that morons go on the air and report false information. I WANT THE TRUTH!!!

It probably is the truth. Saban and Co. are just trying to cover it up since the story leaked out. Coaches want their plans for the offseason (especially before the draft) under tight wraps. The two of them denying it is only a smokescreen in an attempt to keep other teams in the dark as to what Miami will do on draft day and in free agency.
 
You dont say something in public as HC of a football franchise and turn around and do the opposite. It doesnt look good to the rest of the players who play for you and your job. For those praying for Saban to get Daunte Culpepper..............keep dreaming....you are free to dream.
 
I don't think it was a false report but one based on rumor and/or innuendo.
 
Was Saban really supposed to come out and tell us Gus was out? I believe the report (I hope its true). Saban just doesnt tell everyone what he is doing.
 
journalists usually jump the gun...they have thier sources within the given organization and when the source speaks they jump to be the first to report...its not bad journalism but sometimes its better to let a story develop before bring it to the public prematurely...you end up with egg in yuor face(i am learnign this in calss as we speak)

So you think that because Saban and Gussy denied it that it isn't true ?? At any rate, there must be some amount of truth that they talked about Gus' future here...what was actually said is anyones guess. But what motive would this guy have to make something like that up ???

Well, in my book, jumping the gun and ending up with egg on your face is the definition of bad journalism.

Getting a scoop, and getting facts and a story straight can go hand in hand, but getting what you want to be a scoop and not having facts which screw up the story dont.
