Saban Places Blame On Offensive Line

Well...then why wasnt a OL drafted or a high profile FA brought in??? Our OL problems are notorious..it's not like he didnt know...might wanna look in the mirror on this one..

Just let Houck work his magic and relax guys.. I am starting to read this Saban character like a book. Did he say this to defend the RBs and QBs? Nope. He said it to light a fire under the OL's arse.

IMO the run-blocking has been the weak link, not necessarily pass protection.

ROT and Center must be fixed this week or we are in for a long season

There might be enough elements on the roster to fix RT, but there aren't enough currently healthy elements to fix C (at least without messing up RG).

Sooner or later, Middleton has to be on the lineup...This guy has the power to push back defenders to open running lanes for the running backs....He is a tractor...Finally McDougle was not impressive also...The left side of the line was very solid. The right side had huge problems....

The new O-Line should look like

Vernon Carey
Jeno James
Rex Hadnot
F Middleton
John St Clair

Saban said that stuff at his press conference today. It should be no surprise that the Oline is the problem. The QB is not the biggest problem. I'm not blaming the Oline either, I'm just saying there are many factors not just QB.

Wow, Zim, I can't imagine what your feelin on that Wanny subject.

Thanks Man, the last 2 years I couldn't bare seeing him on the sidleline
in Miami. He will now take a potential top 20 team to winless and no recruits.

He's a nice guy, but ZERO personality for motivation.
If you were a blue chip high school kid, would YOU play for him?

Sorry off subject.

...Dont tell me..tell Saban...He's the one mad about the lack of production...as he should be..I'm not blamin Houck though I mean its hard to make dinner out of cracker's....

I am wondering why they didnt switch up the 1st team OL playing with the first team skill position players last night. Specifically, I would have subbed in Middleton at RG (he looked VERY strong in run blocking when he did play) and then Rex at C.

Basically, why is it taking so long to make these changes and try them out in a game situation? I thought we are trying to find the best combo? How can we do that without testing it in a game situation with the actual starters at QB, WR, TE and HB? Nick, training camp and preseason only lasts so long...
