Hey, I didn't see this posted anywhere so if it was I apologize. It's not like big news but I just came across it and thought i'd share http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/4966854

Basically just talks about the communication difficulties between the two with Ricky not really giving definitive answers to Saban's questions. The media must be bored as I am.

And RW is the guy that so many posters stated they'd like to spend the day with (in one of the polls). What a scintillating conversationalist.

Saban seems to be forgetting that the guy has Social Phobia. A guy like that isn't going to enter into a typical give-and-take conversation with you. Instead he's going to want the interaction to end as soon as possible so he can get out of the social situation he's in and end his discomfort. And this is probably exaggerated even more for Ricky when he's talking to someone important or an authority figure, of which Saban is both.

Ricky will do well if he is not the center of attention. He knows he can play. He knows that he can make a better living at this than anything else. But, he cannot handle being the focal point of the Dolphins offense.

I think he can handle being the focal point if he doesn't feel like the coach is expecting him to carry the team on his shoulders without a supporting cast. Wannstedt was basically treating him like a battering ram, putting him out there with the whole offense on his shoulders with no passing game and no offensive line. I mean hell, that's career suicide for a running back, and like you said, it puts him in the spotlight way too much.

I love this quote from Saban:

"Every time I ask him how he's doing, he says, 'Good,"' Saban said. "And I say, 'What's up, dog?' And he says nothing."

Just imagining him trying to sound "hip" makes me crack up! :rofl3: :rofl3:

I think this whole article is BS .And I say, 'What's up, dog?' saben doesn't speak that way

This is Saban's way of telling the press not to bombard him with RW questions now that he is almost ready to play. It should be of no surprise to anyone that he is playing it coyly.

I think this is Saban to a Tee and I love it!

He luls you into nothing only to blind side you.

Saban will never show his cards, even if he knows how Rickys doing.

Not Ever!!!

:blah:<---Saban talking to media

This "article'" is absolutely stupid and worthless. Just look at the bi-line.

Miami coach Nick Saban has no clue how Ricky Williams will perform in his return to the Dolphins.

Its trying to stir something up where there's nothing but doing a really poor job at it. I didn't see or hear the interview but it just sounds like saban was giving either very indifferent or joking answers to questions he really did have much to say too. The author makes it out like Saban is all confused and doesn't know what to expect.

Its dumb. We'll get RIckey back in a coupla days, see how he looks, and go from there. Its not a story.

Exactly, and even if Ricky engaged in more conversation, it still doesn't tell Saban how Ricky's going to perform. The key things I got in that article were:

1. Ricky's feeling ok
2. He's done everything the team has asked.
3. He's willing to practice in the rain, even when no one else is with him.
4. He's focus on the task at hand.
5. Little talk, but big walk..What's the use of talk when he can show you on the field.
6. Next week the team gets to see him and he gets to see where he's at in terms of the speed of the game and hitting doing a real practice with teammates.
7. The guy has to feel isolated in this situation, what's there to talk about for him right now.

Just media BS trying to stir the pot

Nick was asked about Ricky tonight on the Saban Show and only had positive things to say about him and how things are working out with regards to his attitude and the players acceptance of him.

Pure BullSh## to try and create a story.
