stripped from his general manager duties. Through this season it is evident that his choices of free agent pickups and draft picks are very poor. I dont think that Saban is a bad coach but I just dont think he is a good talent evaluater. We were 9-7 last year with basically the same team that Wanny coached. This year we are about to start 1-6 because of Sabans lack of ability to find talent. The dolphins had plenty of money this offseason to find players but it all got wasted on bad players. It is just not acceptable to see this.

no thats not true. There are a lot of coaches that do not have general manager duties today. Only a few coaches have that responsibility

Well you missed my point but I agree with you. Coach/gms rarely work. It does seem Saban needs help. I was saying he hasnt shown much as a coach yet. Now whether being able to focus only on coaching will help or not is yet to be seen.

Saban has final authority on all personnel decisions, not Mueller. Mueller should be given that responsibility ASAP

I agree. Seattle didn't turn it around until Holmgren was stripped of his GM duties. Saban shouldn't have final authority on personnel.

Considering the salary cap mess and the talent available, Saban's done alright. Our issue is an inability to perform basic football functions: blocking, catching, tackling, etc. I'm wondering if our position coaches are total morons, especially whoever's in charge of the WR corps.

Saban is an idiot and he has ruined this franchise. Call it for what it is. He is making Wannsted look good and that is not easy to do. We are done. He will blow the top pick on a useless backup. He is a college coach period. I have never seen any other headcoaches clapping when his team fumbles or misses a field goal. Better yet I think he got lucky at LSU I think he is more of a high school coach.
