people need to stop trippin about our secondary everyone needs to realize that saban is known for building secondary just like hudson houck builds O-lines alot of you just do not realize how much talent we have on defense that once our secondary gels WE WILL have the deadliest defense in the NFL no doubt! do you know what that means? it means we have the elite passing game, we have the elite running game, recievers, we have the best spc'l teams in the league, and well have the deadliest D, our only chink in the armor is our oline which has shown much imporvement which will soon be great since we have THE BEST o-line coach in the game. ladies and gentlemen....we finally have a team! can you see why now we are some people superbowl pick and darkhorse champs mid season i promise you we will finally have a complete team enjoy this season its gonna be the best weve had in a long time.

ahhh the sweet sound of reason..... well, "one of" anyway, next year "the" deadliest.

Hope your right, but if our secondary is great anytime soon it wont be because of talent..it will be because of a scheme

Until it works it's nothing special, and right now we are having issues. There is no excuse we continually get burned on long pass palys. In preseason we got burned deep alot!! Now in the regular season we are getting burned deep, what will happen when we play Manning and Brady??? we will get killed. No excuses, Charlie Batch threw for 3 TD's against our D, thats pathetic!!! He's a bckup in Pittsburgh because he's not good enough to start anywhere els. Yet he puts up three TD's against Saban's ridiculously tough to learn D!! I hope we can improve, but since Sabans been here I haven't seen it.

We didn't get burned deep against Pit! Hines Ward in the endzone and Tight End Heath underneath. What do you mean we got burned.

The secondary will be sweet once Travis Daniels gets back and Jason Allen is ready to go you will see. :dolphins:

I have no doubts, we have a lot of new people and a lot of youth. I think its going to take 4 or 5 games to get everyone on the same page. Assuming there are no injuries, I think we will have a top 15 secondary at that point.

yes, I believe this to be a fair assesment. As was said, we weren't beat deep. I think we continue to improve all season and will be formidable after midseason.

I think when it comes to our secondary, Saban is trying to turn "mediocre players}, into "better than average" players. Lehan / Goodman suck, and with Daniels / Allen not playing, that only makes things worse. Our pass rush is going to have to get better, because I have my doubts the secondary will anytime soon....

PHINZ RULE!!!!!

Regardless. Our secondary needs help and soon if we are gonna' make a serious attempt at the playoffs. So far, since Saban has taken over, we have went from a top 10 D to a 16 at best D. I miss our our old D-Coordinator. Bates was the man.

Daunte is another one who needs to keep his head on in tough situations. I have watched his whole football career starting with UCF and he is known to choke in big games. Those interceptions in the fourth quarter were costly. Don't get me wrong. He is one of my favorite players in the NFL, he needs to keep focused.

Our O-Line has been a laughing stock for years. This is where an offense starts. It's basic football. Build the best line possible and they will make mediocre RB's and QB's look like Gods. It isn't hard to figure out. The line is the most important thing on both sides of the ball.

87 yard TD ring a bell?? Just because the ball wasn't thrown 50 yards in the air doesn't maen we didn't get burned deep!! There was no one around to make the tackle and it was a huge play for them because the secondary was not in position!

I do think we need Daniels and Allen to be on the field, but the reason the Pats are as good as they are is becuse when their starters go down others step in and pick up where the starters left off. Now granted this is only Sabans second season and he is still tweeking things, but to this point we are nothing special. I do think we will get better, it's just frustrating to watch right now.

the steelers simply outplayed them on that td run im sorry zach thomas is great and all but he no safety and got torched it looked like our secondary was in place to beef up the run defense but alas a ****ing TE smoked us

I think what people are saying is that physically and athletically . . . we have the type of secondary who, when they gel and get this system of Nick SAban down pat . . . can be a force to be reckoned with. The main problem is mentals from what I saw . . . these guys are not slow . . . they can tackle with the best of them . . . technique is solid IMO . . . but man the understanding of plays . . . defensive audibles . . . reading the offense . . . they are still having major problems with that . . . but it was not a severe problem Thursday . . .definetly correctable . . . I like our guys . . .even Lehan, tho I didn't see much and he had the penalty . . . I think will be a fine addition to the secondary. It takes time fellas . . . u can't win the super bowl in the first game of the season . . . its all about how we improve thorughout the season . . . and how we finish . . . and last night was the first step.

I haven't watched the replay since Thursday . . . but I would guess more likely it was a mix up in coverages called . . . and the secondary was not in place . . . . I know the play didn't call for Zack to be covering Miller with no help in the back . . .that is crazy.
