SABAN THROWING SCOTT UNDER THE BUS?

He's sorely missed in Minnesota. Now there's a chance they'll be able to bring him back after the season.

Word out of South Florida is that Dolphins coach Nick Saban could fire offensive coordinator Scott Linehan after only one season with the Dolphins.

The Fins are 22nd in the league in average yards per game, but the bigger problem might be Linehan's offseason endorsement of former Vikings backup Gus Frerotte. Frerotte has been so-so at best as the starter.

We're not saying that a termination is coming or that a decision has been made. All we're saying is that there are rumblings that Saban will make Linehan the scapegoat for the team's performance in 2005.

hmmm...seems like saban may be dissapointed with the recent playcalling also.

Seems logically; let Saban call the plays, i mean come on look at all those wrap arounds with chris chambers, and how many yards did we get? and then passing it on 3 and 2 come on, but at the same time u could blame gus for throwing the pick?????

Is he throwing him under the Gus Bus?

Seriously, Saban has to have some input as to what plays get called and when they get called so I don't know if that's true. It's PFT what do you expect.

Some people will buy any kind of info that gets tossed around. If Saban would blame Linehan for Gus, then why is he starting Gus?

Nick is very hard on his assistants, but he has never been the type of coach that will meddle with what his assistants do. Nick is the overseer. He has always let his coaches coach though. He lets his coaches earn their keep. He's not going to go up to Scott and tell him what plays to run. If Scott can't utilize the talent that he has, then it's all on him.

Somewhere between them thaey have to have a plan on how to overhaul the postion. I want the best FA or Trade for the Best QB AND pick a quality QB in the draft. WE need two , one as a back up , one as the guy. At least then we could say we TRIED to get a QB.

Thank you for some sort of reasoning.

You don't think Nick talks to Linehan and tells him what type of plan he wants in place and then Scott puts it together for him? I don't see Nick as a micro manager but I'm sure he does have a say as to what the gameplan for the week will be.

agree. I say we give up picks for Leinart, if not a quinn, if niether, a young, vick, or a cutler. but after the first 2 i think i become sad n depressed n just wish for something great to happen like brady's turn out.

Thanks , we'll have CB's coming back next year , we need a S , but QB is the weakest position BY far. Maybe a fullback.

Saban should give him some advice. Stick with what works. No more reverses or fake reverses every drive.
