On our final drive tonight before we kicked a field goal, Saban chose..... Ricky over Ronnie. Granted Ricky ran out of bounds with 2:10 left that could have hurt us, but in the end it was Ricky and all his experience over Ronnie.

I found that interesting.

Its fun to watch ricky and all but I dont see hows thats possible^

That wasn't even a fumble by Ronnie. Terrible non-overturn by the incompetent ref after the review.

Well, it wasn't a fumble. We've all decided upon that.

With that said, Ronnie has to understand the game situation and not put that ball in harms way like that A FG there would have been HUGE and just about salted the game away. He has to understand when to fight for the extra yards and when to take what you've gotten and be smart with the ball.

He is a rookie and didn't have a ton of experience in college. He'll learn, and then he'll be deadly.

I think Ricky needs less playing time

and

Ronnie Needs more

I like ricky on this team but not as the featured back

They useually take turns one will do a drive then the other unless it is a long drive. So I think you are looking to much into this. But I think that RB just lost the OROY. :(

Exactly

But even before the "fumble," Ricky got more playing time than Ronnie. I want to see Ronnie get more touches, especially since all that money was invested in him.

It's funny what people see in things. The truth of the matter is since Ricky's arrival (or actually, since they broke him in a bit) they have been on as near to a strict mathematical regiment of rotation as is possible. Ronnie gets two drives, Ricky gets two drives, then reset. The only exceptions to this rule are on any given drive if one of the RBs receives too much work he has to get spelled by the other one in the short term.

Look at the TWO drives prior to that final drive where you point out that Ricky Williams got the ball. Tell me which running back you see carrying the ball.

That's right. Ronnie. It's the puff, puff, give offensive rotation. Ronnie takes two drives then Ricky takes two drives.
