to many people are making to big of a deal on these preseason games i can't belive some people calm down.saban has a plan and it is a good plan the man knows what he is doing this is not going to just happen over night it's going to take some time to learn and gel together as a team.saban has all my support i belive in him and so do the players we just need to stand in there corner and defend our faviorite team to the fullest no matter what.

I defend this team and wish them the best always! This post did not make sense to me. No disrespect!

While the preseason may not mean a whole lot in tearms of wins and losses. It does measure how good your team will do in regular season.

And I mean how your reserves play. How good your starters are. How the timing etc is coming along. Those are pretty good measuring sticks to tell how your team might look in regular season.

Like right now we are a team that has no real clue as to who some of our starters are on offensive line. We still haven't decided a who is starting Qb. Although it has been stated that Gus is playing with 1st string he really hasn't won the job outright.

So yeah some of us do get a little exciteable when they see preseason games.

Personally i like watching the preseason games. because there are a lot of young guys out to make themselves known to coaches and that means lots of hard hitting. of course there is also alot of sloppy play too. Which is probably why we haven't scored a whole lot in preseason.

So if we can't score points in preseason. I wonder how we will look in regular season.

Of course no one is doing very much scoring on our D in pre season so maybe our strength is still there

Oh really? If preseason means so much how come there have been SB champs that have gone winless in preseason? Or playoff teams that have gone winless and looked terrible in preseason?

The answer is cause preseason means squat.

Pre-season is there for 6 reasons and none relate to record:
- Owners make the most money during this period cause they only pay the players a per game stipend and not part of their actual salary
- Players get the kinks out
- Players get to play with newly acquired teammates on the field
- Coaches and players to work on certain aspects of the game whether it be just executing or working on a particular play
- Coaches to check out their depth
- For rookies to play and adjust to the speed at which the nfl game moves

That is one of the longests sentences I've ever read.

You make sense but it took me some time to decipher it without any punctuation.

No way, no how, no can do. Preseason has been proven every year that it dont mean diddly. First off, everyone knows that only one game gets gameplanned for. Secondly, in regular season, backups dont see jack for playing time unless your like Lance Shulters who will crack the starting lineup in the future. Thirdly, if a team is not doing so well in the first half, they still have another half to turn it around, and not with backups! duh. These are such obvious things that i think people just want to ***** about anything they can get their hands on.

100% agree. Alot of people don't realize that preseason is to work out all the problems that exists with new players and vets trying to learn the new system that the NEW coaches are implementing. (that's it for the word "new") Plus, Saban is not going to show the entire NFL what his REAL game plan is until Sept 11 against the Broncos. Why show everyone what your offensive and defensive schemes are when it's just to work out the players and have them get used to the idea? So, everyone who is worried about not winning any preseason games needs to calm down and take a deep breathe and just get ready for a fun & exciting season! Trust me, you guys and girls won't be disappointed!!
