DAVIE -- Dolphins coach Nick Saban confirmed he met Tuesday with Manny Wright but said it's not an indication the defensive tackle is closer to rejoining the team.

"The assumption he is coming back because I met with him is completely wrong," Saban said after Wednesday's practice.

Agent Peter Schaffer said Tuesday that the Dolphins and Wright have "made a lot of positive steps" toward mending a relationship that fractured when the second-year player left the team 1 1/2 weeks ago and asked for his release. Schaffer said Wright's behavior was being affected by clinical depression.

This whole Manny Wright situation just goes to show you what a great coach Saban is. As if the Ricky thing wasn't enough, now you have this young man who has all the potential in the world and Saban is going above and beyond to help this kid. I think that speaks volume about the Coach and how dedicated he is to his players and this franchise.

Yeah bro it's amazing to see that Saban is still trying to get Manny to come back because he sees the potential that this kid has. If it was someone like Eddie Moore do you think Saban would be putting this much effort to help him?

If Manny can't survive under Saban he won't make it anywhere in the NFL.

That i truly believe. There isnt alot of patience for players who dont fit the status quo and tote the party line.

But also knowing saban.. he comment could mean nothing... and everything. he could already be back with the team... in some regards.. but not in a football capacity. Wright will likely get help for his condition paid for by the Phins where if he left the team he would likey have to find that support on his own. The NFL as a whole is great at trying to not only develop players... but develop young men to become successful and valubale members of society... Unfortunately, the media only grabs hold of the negative ones... and make dysney mini dramas about special ones. There are many.
Wright could be apart of the team. But just getting treatment.. and saban could be trying to keep the media hounds off the sensitive kid. Or he could be eatin his mama chitlins.

I think this is very true, because Saban was a college coach. It's that fact, that makes him such a players coach(at least with young guys). He wants to see them succeed and develop into model men and citizens, just like he did at LSU.

I really dont blame Manny so much (although you controll your own actions regardless) he has clinical depression, ive been around people with clinical depression and its not easy for them

Hopefully he rejoins the team
