Why is everyone on this guy so hard? I understand that the team is underperforming and he has made a few questionable calls. I also understand that he is the head coach and takes all responsibility when the team performs poorly. The bottom line is he has coached 24 games in his career. Give the guy a break.....he needs time to make it happen. Who cares if he is last in the coaches poll it is irrelevant. Since everyone likes to compare him to belichick look at his first years coaching. He was 6-10,7-9,7-9. Not so great. Cut Saban a break, this team is NOT going to contend this year(obviously). He is a SECOND year coach. Give him time to do what he needs. Obviously his cordinator choice was poor, but he also hired linehan last year. There was no way he could keep linehan so maybe this off-season he will fire Mularkey, we will see. I forget sometimes that this is the same group of people who wanted Rosenfels to start and we all know how that turned out. Bottom line is I am a disappointed as any of you with the season but I still think Saban is a great coach and time will bear that out. 1 1/2 seasons is by no means long enough to say if he is good or not.

I still believe in Saban... I think he gets at least through the end of next season. If we improve next season (relative to this season) I think he comes back the season after that. If we have two disastrous seasons in a row, I could see him being let go. Or not, it's hard to say what Huizenga will do.

He's made consistantly poor choices of staff.

The team is not performing.

His last draft choices don't even start on a terrible team.

He's getting heat because he is responsible for the performance of the team.

I give him next year, and, then, an evaluation musst be made.

If you read what I wrote, I never said he doesn't need to be evaluated....I said he needs to be given more time. As far as the staff goes, what are you talking about? Consistently poor choices? The only choice of hire that I question is Mularkey. Linehan was good, Houck is good, I like Capers.....please tell me who are his bad choices?

Lienehan was a HC candidate, and, everyone knew he'd leave after 1 year.

Mularkey is terrible.

Ceating turbulence in the offense is NOT good.

This is the worst year in an almost 40 year franchise. You think he doesnt deserve criticism?

I'm sorry you can't see that we have another Steve Spurrier here, but guess what; we do.

You might as well stop trying to defend Saban, posters here are either behind him (where I am) or they hate him and the most logical arguement in the world isn't going to change their minds.

We're "on him so hard" because the current mess is his fault. He put this team together the way he wanted it.

Do you honestly think Saban has all the pieces where he wants them after 2 drafts, and 2 offseasons? Saban still has work to do to build "his" team, and he knows that. You should know that too. Don't put all the blame on Saban yet....he still needs time. You can't build a championship team, going from 4-12, in 2 seasons. Get real people.

Wrong. People arent so easily categorized into 2 groups. I'm "behind him" and hope he's learning to get things clicking next year but it's absurd not to criticize the horrible job he's done so far.

Saban drafted Jason Allen. Saban drafted Matt Roth. Saban traded away Pat Surtain and cut Sam Madison. Saban brought in Will Allen. Saban traded for Culpepper and Harrington. Saban kept McMichael and Chambers. Saban brought in Mularkey.
The blood from this debacle is on his hands.

I like Saban, but I think his problem is that he is so completely sold on his SYSTEM, that he isn't making adjustments to our team's talent level and their complete and total LACK OF MENTAL TOUGHNESS.
