I'm still not 100% sold on the idea that Saban will get a QB in the draft.
Frerotte and Lemon will most likely stay. Sage will be let go. That leaves one vacancy. Saban seems to be leaning towards a guy with some NFL experience. Not a rookie from the draft. Having said that, if Saban has the chance to steal a QB in the draft, I doubt he will pass it up. In that case, he may let go of Lemon.
In the scenario where he gets a QB in the draft, Saban must also get a free agent to have a solid replacement for Frerotte. Otherwise, Saban will have to throw a rookie QB in there when Frerotte is unable to carry the position through 16 games. It could get ugly that way. There aren't many rookie QBs that can come in and win right away.
Also, since when does a team pick up two QBs in the same offseason? It just doesn't seem like a common thing. It is highly likely that Saban will go with one or the other (draft or free agency). I think he is looking at free agency right now, and saving his picks in the draft for defense, O-line and other late 7th round developmental players.
If Miami gets some superb defensive players from the draft and a solid free agent QB, they could make a run at the playoffs this coming season. If they try to start a rookie QB, it is a roll of the dice.
