I have been trying as best I can to look into a crystal ball and discover what miami will do come draft day.

This is my guess and it may be some what unpopular.

Looking at by most accounts miami's need are's QB/OT/WR/LB/CB

I feel most offensive needs could be meet in FA except WR depending on what OL spot miami wants to upgrade most they can add a vet. and get production through FA.

QB well this again may not be popular...if Saban cant get "his" deal for a vet QB he will go with Gus, and IMO look at drafting a QB in '07.

Now for the Draft most feel (rightfully so) the defense is good however aging
but if you look at what Saban has done thus far help is more then on the way especially if the draft unfolds as I see it doing so.

'05 draft
Saban brought much help to the defense when he selected Roth...Daniels...Crowder...Vicerson...M.Wrigth if you consider that Crowder & Daniels starter from basically day one and Roth was a rush specialist Saban got very good production from those players let alone M.Wright who once he got playing time showed he may indeed be a manchild and if Vickerson show the same flashes he did prior to his knee injury then a projected DL of DE's Roth & Vickerson along with NT Wright isnt far fetched.
As for the secondary there is a few ways to view that spot if Saban feels W.Poole is able to play one of the two Corner spots he may have no need(yet) to draft a CB highly if he does so be it...I'm going to take a safe projection and assume he doesnt know what he has in Poole.

So looking at the '06 draft I see Miami selecting in 3 of the 4 first rounds defensive players in my view the top pick will either be a LB or a CB
with 2 of the reamaining 3 rounds going the way of defense.

The fastes and easiest way to get better is defense Jimmy did it here with some very good drafting( Taylor...Thomas...Madison...Surtain) and none of those players where #1 picks.

Offensively miami is strong at the skill pos. except for QB(the hardest to find)
and needs a solid to above average Tackle.

With a concentration on defense Saban can build his style of team while still having a core offense that can win games.

We need LB to replace Seau, and we need alot of help in the secondary. I would love to see us get Brees and Bently in FA. Both are young and would be hugh impact players. Then we would be able to use our high picks upgrading/ injecting youth into our D
