The only explanation I can come up with is that they used Saban's drafting system. This is why they passed on Quinn. They allready have Daunte Culpepper and Trent Green is in town. So there was no need for a QB also no need for a LT either with Anthony Alibi and LJ Shelton.

So to replace wes welker you get Ginn cheap and you use the family excuse and we know all about the family explanation. You even dig and use the Wannestant star special teams player role to explain the pick.

Then you pass on Drew Stanton (STUD) and you take a Fielderish Mormon who is going to be 26 years old in a few months and is only 6-2. Beck is going to be a fine backup for some team eventually.

The Pats must be :sidelol: . They give us a second round pick and we pick a short center out of hawaii. Use or ninth pick in the draft for a kick returner who is injured and then draft Jay Fielder.

I would like someone from the Dolphins to justify passing on Brady Quinn and then reaching for Ginn who was projected to be a late first round pick.

John Beck: ESPN had him rated as a fifth rounder.

Brady Quinn is the next Leif how about that one. No attitude but equal bust status. He cant win the big game and every somewhat tough D he faced he crumbled. Ted Ginn is a speed reciever and can get great seperation. And would have been top 10 without the foot injury that will heal. Personally I thought we would take Stanton instead but lets see how beck is. And our so called short armed center was a damn good player in college.

Oh and ESPN keeps saying zach thomas is too short. ESPN loves to hype certain players Quinn and Bush being 2 of them. Last I checked bush got outplayed by a 7th round WR last year. And last I checked he had a low YPC between the tackles. So how ESPN rates is not the end all say all. If we dont like what we see in beck we can draft a QB next year. There will be ones better than quinn.

To refresh: 1st round picks: lief, couch, akili smith, all considered great prospects and instant winners(ala quinn). Now last I checked quite a few non first rounders are good starting QB's in this league. The guy you wanted last year drew brees was a 2nd rounder.

One of the analyst, i think Blaylock, broke Quinn down on film and showed footage that proved he was innacurate at times, inconsistent, and needed work on his footwork (he lifts his backfoot way too early, losing power). All the guys mentioned he was not a natural thrower, but more coached to be an effective thrower. A system QB. Everyone has an opinion.

you better hope corners give him a 10 yard blanket. a big physical CB is going to eat his lunch for the 1st 5 yards and by the time hes free the qb alread threw the ball or got sacked

yeah threw the ball to the other corner cause hes so inaccurate. Joey Harrington part deux.

Honestly guys, I don't think Brady Quinn will give us a strong impact in day 1. Ted Ginn will give us an impact on day 1 because of his ability to miss defenders, explosive off the line, uses his hands to catch the ball, awesome return man.

Those are qualities that help make an offense explosive. I can picture him as a Marvin Harrison in terms of size but as far as his offensive play in the pro's then we will hold that judgement as with every player coming out of college. I believe this is the best offensive prospect we had in a while.

Yeah, because we all know that these days corners are allowed to simply maul guys at the line of scrimmage. This is why little guys like Steve Smith are so ineffective.

Don't blame other people especially people that aren't here for our our draft went down. Our draft actually looks great so far. i would have loved to get Quinn but we'll see in the years to come if we made the right choice or not.

Why does Beck being a morman have anything to do with his ability to play. Your prejudice is not necessary or wanted here.
