Three directors of NFL team's on what they thought of the Dolphins offseason moves. Below are just a few, visit the Herald for the rest:
All three questioned giving a four-year, $15 million deal to left tackle L.J. Shelton, claiming he isn't much better -- if at all -- than Damion McIntosh. ''They paid way too much for Shelton. I don't see how it makes them better,'' one NFC personnel director said. ``He has been a lazy, [inconsistent] player.''
Two said Miami upgraded by signing Will Allen to replace Sam Madison. ''Allen's hands are a knock that have always followed him, but he has excellent speed and good coverage skills,'' said one NFC executive whose team considered signing him. Another said Madison ``is declining and Allen will be a good fit for the system Nick wants.''
But an AFC personnel man cautioned that though ``Allen is probably physically more talented than Madison, he never makes a big play. He has the worst instincts.''
The Daunte Culpepper trade for a second-rounder got rousing support. ''People forget he's two years away from having one of the most amazing seasons a quarterback has ever had,'' one NFC executive said, adding he doesn't read much into Culpepper's lackluster play last season because ``the whole Vikings organization imploded.''

''I really like Hill for the price they paid [three years, $6 million],'' one said. ``He gets himself in good position, and he's a very willing tackler. Those are the types of guys you win with.''
