Sack Number Week 1

I don't know if it's just me but when watching the replay of week 1 @ Browns I counted 5 sacks with Jordan's getting called back for the face mask. However NFL.com still has our number at 6 and crediting Jordan with 1 sack for his NFL debut. Is this correct? and if so will the NFL find the error and change the stat accordingly?

Yes it is correct. Personal fouls are added after the play. Play still stands.

Same as if a roughing the passer is called on a completion. the completion stands and the yards are added from where the receiver got tackled.

If true that doesnt seem to make much sense. Why credit the guy for making the play due to pulling the mask?

The Facemask penalty was a DEAD BALL FOUL.. Meaning the play stands and the penalty is marked off and 1st down awarded.. If the play stands SOMEONE must be credited with a tackle in this case a sack.. hope that helps you!
