Sage looking elsewhere?

 interesting

That Cleo Lemon trade was a waste.. Should have just cut Feeley and kept the pick.

deal ONLY done for salary cap savings.

Was it that big of a deal though that Saban would have given up a pick?

So is anyone going to miss Sage if he leaves? I remember when alot of people were calling for him to get a chance at the starting job..

The savings was relatively minimal (and could have been accomplished by other means). It was certainly not worth a 6th round pick. The writer for the Herald is stating his opinion.

he can't be worse than the 28th QB if given a chance to compete in training camp with the #1 team.

He was a good back up for us, when we needed him, he stepped in and did a great job. Some team is going to get a great back up for very cheep. If Lemon isn't going to compeat for the back up job, why not let him go and keep Sage though?

He showed something when he was given a chance, he just wasn't given enough of a chance. I think that was a huge mistake, as we were just treading water with old man Gus. I don't see anything in Sage to suggest he can't develop into a quality NFL QB.

If Sage gets an opportunity somewhere else and plays well, we'll likely all miss him.

Lemon was worth the 6th pick. Even if he as just equal to another qb we could have drafted in the 6th, he is seasoned with the his time in SD . And more importantly, he has spent time since october learning our system and getting used to our receivers. This is much better than starting in May.

very good point. If Miami drafted a 6th round quarterback how many people would be surprised that the guy made the team?
