Have you noticed that Sage & Ben Roflisbrgerrrr have the same MO... Same height, weight, speed & arm strength going to Sage. They both have a very calm personality. If we continue to play this kid, he just might suprise us. We have a good running game, good defense & decent receivers. Our o-line just is not as physical as Pittsburgs... Next good QB just might be under our own nose!!! What do you guys think? :dolphins:

Just shows you how small the difference between back-up and good qbs are. One of the reasons it is so hard to find one

To be realistic, Sage hasnt had a real chance to be proved as a starter. That means playing a whole year. And the sad part is Sage possibly wont be given that chance.

  Wow...just...wow

This is one of the few threads that's left me speechless.

I wouldn't mind keeping Sage instead of Gus to handle the reins while a drafted QB develops. He's a good backup.

There is something about Sage that so far three coaching staffs have seen and decided to keep him as a backup QB. He seems to play well when he hasn't practiced but wasn't impressive in his two starts. He also didn't do all that well yesterday until he got into the hurry up offense.

The problem as I see it is that he kills himself when he plays a highly scripted game and plays like a star when he goes out and wings it.

I really don't see Sage as anything more than a solid player. Ben is a superstar. There is no comparison. Sage has brought us back twice, but he was awful against Cleveland and just average yesterday. He made a couple of nice throws, but once again didn't find recievers running open a few times and still was inaccurate at times. I like him and he might be the best we have, but I doubt he is on the team next year and comparing him to Big Ben is a bit more than a stretch.

Um, thing is.... Sage was supposed to be the starter of Washington right now, believe it or not. Unfortunately, Sage became proof of a rule that every Dolphan knows, or should know:

No matter which team you're on, if you're a QB, you can be screwed by Wannstedt.

Since Sage wasn't a high draft pick to begin with, it was easy to send a not-so high draft pick for a trade. Unfortunately, Wanny just couldn't bench Fiedler.

I'm not sure if I understand how if Sage was supposed to be the starter at Washington now, why they traded him to Miami. I'm not dogging you. I really am missing the point. :)

According to a past article in Sun-Sentinel (don't ask me to dig it up, I'm not paying for archives), Sage was actually projected to be a starter for the Redskins before he was traded. Kinda makes you wonder if Sage resents Wannstedt as much as we do, huh?

is it possible that sage is just not a "smart" qb?

like u said 3 different regimes and really the same result

they run the dumbed down version of the offense when he's in.....

maybe he has the physical tools, but he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed you know?

its possible....
