...as we began talking about the Brees idea last week on the how and why we liked the idea ( draft creativity and flexability) here is a talk I had with an NFL front office guy.." Yeah the Saints are pushing all this money on the table for a QB selling the fans on how aggressive they are...they know MR USC doesn't want to come and they can't get caught with their pants down as far as a QB is concerned...they have to overpay "..

now thats from a conversation yesterday morning....

from today with another NFL guy he says......" Brees and his agent doing a nice job checking the market value for his client...
driving the cost.....Saban did a terrific selling job on the kid laying out the Miami game plan etc....."

This person went on to say.." just keep him away from Benson"
"If he gets in the room with that guy and Benson starts talking about the future etc some laughs may come out"

now this is from some NFL guys.....

a 3rd NFL guy told me....." The only way the Saints don't get him is if someone says somethning stupid....if he signs with New Orleans he becomes a marketing hero...taking the shot to go to New Orleans..." i'd be worried what he see's with the hurricane damage".." but if he goes there...and i believe the saints have a major shot...he and his agent see opportunity in helping a city and that leads to other big things "...

Thanks, CpuFan. It's always interesting to hear what is being said in other markets. On the Minnesota talk shows up here, most fans are hoping Daunte gets traded. They don't want him. They do want to get some value out of a trade though.

Saban is smart......Brees goes to NO to see if Saban will jack up the price...whereas Saban acts like he has interest in Culpepper, so that Brees gets scared and runs down to Miami and doesnt ask for as much..
