IMO that a pretty big spread. To open that big of favorites on the road is kind of shocking. Without our home field 3 they are saying they are like 9.5+ point favorites.

i knew they would be favored but this is a little ridiculous. The spreads dont mean much to the players but Vegas is normally pretty close on these things all i know is that we will bring it i hope the saints do the same.

What do i have to say to 6.5 favorites....LETS LOSE PEOPLE SOME MONEY :woot:

GO FINS!!!!

I expected it. They have a great passing team. We have struggled against the pass.

Overall if we can control the game clock with the running game like against the colts but finish drives unlike that game we have a chance

Like they say, Any Given Sunday!

Philadelphia opened up as 14 point favorites @ Oakland last week and they lost. I'm not surprised New Orleans is heavily favored in Miami (look how they've been playing this season), I'm actually a bit surprised they're not favored by more. Hopefully we can keep it a close game but I'm worried Brees is going to tear our secondary apart. Their D has been very impressive as well, should be an interesting matchup.

When the Bears were 7-0 and ranked #1 in defense, and offense in 2006... And were crowned the NFC champs (like the Saints are now)....

We were like 10+ point underdogs.

We went in there and blew the bears out of the stadium.

The line on that 2006 game was Chicago -13.5.

New Orleans' rout of the Giants last week had a big impact on this line. Without that game, the Saints would be roughly a 3 point favorite. Normally one game won't move a line to that extent but when a team puts up massive points against a good team it's a jolt and leads to tons of followers who will bet the team blindly and take their chances. Actually it's not the worst strategy. I've charted it and teams that have a baseline far above the typical NFL output do extremely well against the spread particularly in the first 8-10 weeks of the season.

The line would be higher if Miami weren't coming off a bye week. So-called sharps will be looking to play the Dolphins. But New Orleans is a statistical monster so that will keep some of them away. Bud Goode's computer model has been bullish on the Saints all year. Last week he had them by 8 over the Giants and the current (weighted) Predict Report is New Orleans by 17 over the Dolphins.

MIA being 2-3 and having all 3 loses to superior QB play, and Brees is coming to town? And the spread is ridiculous? NO will pass the ball, what has MIA and its ILB's, CB's and S's done to warrant a tighter spread?

Is it rediculous to loose by 7 points? if i tell u we lost by a TD would u consider that unreal or a blowout? if ur going to b.i.t.c.h about something that does nothing to impact the game and might even work in our favor motivation wise then why dont u go out and place a bet on it? if ur so confident that we will not loose by a TD to a potent offense with our weak secondary put some money on it. use it to ur advantage. spreads mean nothing to anyone but the people in vegas..

WoW big spread to open up.....I guess that big Giant win and the Jet lose to Buffalo helped. I think the Saints have a let down game after the hype with the Giants.....Our Defense has to come to play or we get blown out of the building.....Sparano said something today which made me happy to hear.....He said our D is starting to learn how to play with each other.......I take that as meaning our D is starting to turn the corner like they did last yr and play some good football, it would be nice if they could string together a few weeks of not giving up a TD like they did last yr.This would be a good week to start.......

Hmm. Not sure how I feel about that... No one has been within fourteen points of them, so fair enough I suppose.

no it wouldnt be ridiculous if we lost by 14 like everyone else has against them.....all i said for it to open at basically 9.5 points i know it says 6.5 but you get 3 for being the home team so basically 9.5...if it worked to that i understand but even with huge favorites it will open at like 3 and when people bet heavy Saints it will open up.

just an observation dude...i just think its a big gap to start the week no doubt it was gonna get that high eventually due to everyone being a blind ESPN follower and believe whatever they say as truth.

I figured it would be no more than 4. Interesting though, they have beaten everyone they have played by 14 points or more.

I don't mind the underdog role at all. In fact, I only hope they took preparation on Henne lightly and I'm willing to bet there'll be another Ginn bomb or two, picking off from when Henne beat the Jets!
