PFT reports that the Saints inquired about the Rams #2 pick. My suggestion is to call the Saints about what they want for the number 1. Would you take the Saints second rounder...and maybe something additional.

Its certainly a thought.

Well, they called the Rams, not the Dolphins, so this is really just you thinking here. Which makes the title a little misleading, but if we were to trade the number one pick to the Saints, I'd like their second, a later pick in the draft, and a very good player.

they know we are picking Jake Long so there's no use of passing in front of us... and they would pay a lot more than having #2 selection

The may want Chris Long or Gholston but I think they are looking at Dorsey. He was one of the best defensive player in college footbal, while he was injured.

we can get a 1st and their 2nd. basically we walk away only wiht a 2nd. i wuoldnt mind that depending who we want at 10 and if there is a leap year of diff btw our 1 and our 10 player.

nobody is trading up into the top 3-5 IMO

we need to stop believing this

I saw something like this in another thread tonight, according to Adam Schefter the Saints really like Glenn Dorsey. And although there is little chance that we take him at one, the Rams could very well take him at two. If they really like Dorsey, who obviously is a local product which may add some intrigue to the rumor, they need to trade with us to be guaranteed to get him. I would still be shocked if we could move out of the pick, but if they offer their first two picks for number overall, I would definitely do it.

We need sooooo much help, take the picks and drop to ten is fine with me.

I would take whatever they are offering the rams and be fine with it. This draft has no top player. There is a group that are top 8 or so, but there is no number 1. Therefore, you can get the same type of talent at 6 with gholston as you could at 2 with c.long. The number one pick hardly has any more value than any of the othe top 5 picks. If I am the dolphins, I take whatever I can get to get out of that spot.

i think they would want dorsey at #2
how about we trade them for their #1 next year instead of this years 2nd round?

If i were trying to pull of a trade I would offer this years first for a 4th rounder this year and their first next year. It would be really nice to see 2 first rounders next year.

I would do it but I don't think they would. If they want Dorsey that bad and are convinced the Rams are gunning for him it makes sense for them to try to talk to us. After thinking about this the more I want us to trade for picks.

I said it in another thread: No more lowballing! Do not trade out unless you have an offer that's worth giving up a #1 pick. We need to stop thinking that we can have the same talent at #8 than we can have at #1.

There is a reason we won only one game last season. We need some talent and we cannot afford being screwed by other teams. Stay put if no other team has the balls to come up with a fair offer!
