I know many of you probably don't believe in the NFL conspiracies but it just seems a little fishy to me that the Saints all of a sudden become a good team a year after Katrina. I mean, always happens to be some team of destiny in sports and this just seems too good to be true. Lets take a look at history for a second. 2001, 9/11 happens and oh look, the Pats win because we should all be patriotic and support the country. 2003, when the US goes to Iraq and Afghanistan, Pats win again because being patriotic is the thing to do. Now a disaster hits New Orleans and all of a sudden become one of the best teams in the NFC because a change of coach, Drew Brees and Reggie Bush, no friggen way. Three people don't just change a franchise around, let alone in one year. It takes teams 2-3 years for a team to fully gel. Pats winning in 01', maybe a coincidence. Pats winning in 03, it starts to make you wonder. Saints winning in 07, something has to be going on behind the scenes that we aren't seeing. I really would like to know the odds of something like this happening three times let alone once. Comments?

KATRINA KONSPIRACY THEORY......yeah how they go from 13 losses last year to the NFC Championship this year? Some questionable calls tonight.

So what do you want the Saints do do? Throw the game away to prove to people like you that the NFL is not "fixed"? Its not like getting Brees, getting their stadium back, getting Deuce Mcallister back, drafting reggie bush, better defensive play and getting a better coach contributed to their improvement. Andy Reid decided to punt it away to let them win, right? These threads are BULL****.

You can believe what you want, and I'll believe what I want. It just seems oddly strange that a team that was horrible last year is basically being handed the trophy because their city was destroyed.

do you realize how much skill it would be to play football and act. meaning act like your playing hard and losing the game on purpose. its hard enough to just play. it would be IMPOSSIBLE to script a game, much less an entire season and playoffs.

how are they being handed the trophy? and seriously, do you keep up with football? how is it strange to that they were so bad last year, but yet they add a new coaching staff, great QB, get a great RB back from injury, draft 2 incredible peices on offense in Colston and Bush, and the emergence of a vet in thomas, and 2 young players in Smith and Bullocks to solidify their defense enough.

lmao at it being Odd that they improved.

Not to mention they were 8-8 the year before katrina.

Step away from the ganja.
Step away from the ganja.
Step away from the ganja.

just to add to why the Saints have been so successful

Drew Brees was an All-Pro this year.

Watch Aaron Brooks the last couple of seasons, and you'll see why the Saints struggled (ie, passing the ball back to your LT when he wasn't looking, resulting in a TD for the defense).

Miami get's hit with hurricanes EVERY YEAR and I don't see us going anywhere lately :D

Miami hasn't even been hit as bad as Katrina but they've had some very bad hurricanes before. Saints are just a pretty good team.

you forgot last year with the bettis story. seemed a little fishy also (especially the officials) . . .

Another one of these threads? :rolleyes2

They brought in a new coach.
They got rid of Aaron Brooks and brought in an All Pro QB.
They drafted VERY well.
2 top RB's.
FA's.
They actually have home games this year

This is practically a new team.

They made a lot of good moves and made themselves better.... or maybe ALL of that is part of the conspiracy..... :rolleyes2

Um one question.....You talk about 9/11. Wouldn't it make more sense for the Jets or Giants to win a superbowl that year since they are IN NY? Yea the patriots stand for patriotism, but it'd make more sense for the town that got hit to win the title. Much like New Orleans this year (at least by your logic).

So either your conspiracy has holes, or the people who are fixing the NFL failed geography pretty badly.

Not to mention they were 8-8 the year before katrina.

An underachieving 8-8 for like 3 consecutive years.

Why were they underachieving? Bad coaching and quarterbacking

GEE I WONDER WHATS CHANGED

Guys like Charles Grant, Will Smith, Mike McKenzie, Deuce McAllister were great players years ago. The difference is Aaron Brooks and Jim Haslett sucked. Turns out the coach and quarterback really are the two most important elements for a team.

PS - If the NFL wanted to fix the Super Bowl after 9/11 dont you think it would have been with a New York team? Idiot

Figure it out and look like less of a moron
