Salary cap cuts & potential FA's

Guys I'd look at:

C Nick Hardwick: Cheap veteran. Could move Pouncey to guard, is still a quality performer and most importantly was a team captain last season with the Chargers. Might not be the best athlete.

G Chris Snee: Fear that he's in the twighlight of his career, but an offensive captain for a franchise like the Giants would be great for the locker room.

NT Vince Wilfork: I'd be a big fan of his attitude in the locker room (seeing a pattern here)...but realistically don't think it makes sense unless we retained Starks instead of Soliai. Don't need 2 Soliai's.

QB Jason Campbell: Cheaper alternative to Moore.

G Carl Nicks: Obvious Hickey connection, does he have the athleticism to fit our scheme?
 
if wilfork or demarcus ware get released i will ban myself...

he's just putting out a filler piece full of nonsense
 
Can we please stop the Pouncey to guard stuff once and for all. I understand he can play guard but he is an all pro center and probably the best Miami has had since Stephenson. We write move him to guard like its easy to find an all pro center. How about we find good guards to put around our current center? I think that would be easier and more prudent.

I don't think you're grasping why people want to move him...we essentially waste his best trait which is his athleticism in the ZBS at center. He'd be great consistently pulling and moving in space, plus he's never looked that comfortable snapping the football in the first place. He played it most of college as well, don't see why it's such a bizarre concept to some. On top of that, with the potential suspension looming do you really want the guy responsible for all the line calls switching 5 weeks into the season? You keep him at guard and the new center can at least get comfortable for a longer period. And all-pro's a stretch....pretty sure that's a designation specifically for actual guys who are on the all pro team...Pouncey is sold, not elite at C at this point in time.
 
team pull their centers a lot we aren't necessarily wasting pounceys movement skills having him on the pivot but we could use him more on the move at left guard and have a slightly lesser move athlete at center and be fine...

just depends on what they decide to do...heck the way it's looking pouncey may not be here that much longer anyways...may not be a part of the long term plan anymore
 
Alot easier to find a serviceable OC than a pair of OG's...just sayin.

Miami pulled Pouncey quite a bit, of course having OG's with cement shoes really hampered play calls.

I think the bigger issue now is if we have so many new guys on this OL some continuity at the center spot will be really important. If Pouncey's suspended do we really wanna switch around the guy making line calls part way through the season?

if he's suspended someone else is gonna have to make those calls anyways...a whole offseason and camp should make for an easy transition for whoever if that's the case and plenty of time for the team to prepare etc and cross train a couple guys...

continuity i think is important at well...but i dont know if the team even trusts mike pouncey anymore...they may be planning for an eventual life without him...that whole incog martin thing who knows...i know it's overblown but the franchise is gonna have pressure to clean up its image etc and so i could see us drafting nothing but choir boys come april...

i guess i will just wait and see...the tells should be there as for what the plans are with how they draft and handle free agency...i know one thing...it's a god dang pressure cooker with the oline this offseason...pressure to draft right pressure to hit in free agency and spend wisely like serious pressure...season rides on it
 
id love to have 2 Soliai's. Why not. It makes the offenses run game non existent up the middle.
