Salguero: Chad Henne stinking it up in the fourth quarter

Cant' say I don't agree with this, he couldn't even get us 15yds against the browns to win the damn game! It's not like he was facing the 85 bears defense out there!

Words can not describe what a douche Armando is. He doesn't look at anything "in depth" if the instruction book said go to the edge and jump he would do it before he checked to see what floor he was on.

I am not defending Henne but there are some very obvious reasons behind the fourth quarter struggles:

1) If your defense puts you behind with 3:00 minutes left on the clock and 85 yards to win or tie the game, I don't think you are going to rush the ball up the field, well Armando would.

2) Even if you wanted to rush the ball late in the game for a go ahead score it is had to do when you have 1 timeout left because your head coach burns them faster then Lindsay Lohan burns cigs in rehab.

3) Daboll is calling a **** load of mid to long passes this season, Henne is 3rd in the NFL for completions of 20+ yards with 16 but WTF Henne had 37 all of last season and hey his completion percentage was much high so maybe Miami should go back to check down, check down, check down punt.

The kid has nothing at all to lose, he is going to get run out of town if Miami continues to lose along with Sparano. The one thing you can say about Chad Henne this season is that the kid is busting his *** trying to win. It is all he can do, if he wins he wins, at this point there is no need to over analyze anything.

Henne is what he is and at the end of the year he is either going to be a hero or a zero - there is no more middle ground in this QB debate.

South Florida, as much as I like the place has a plethora of sportswriters who are really bad at
what they do.

Henne does not stink it up in the 4th! He stinks it up all game .

I don't see anything wrong with the article, and in fact I think it focuses on exactly what Chad Henne's remaining problem is.

Colt McCoy drove his team down for the win. Chad Henne choked.

And it's a shame, too, because success in that situation would've helped him develop much further into the leadership role this team desperately needs from its players right now.

Chad Henne desperately needs to win a game for his team so he can become the leader it needs.

There are some valid points in the article. Everyone gets the point about Henne. Worse of all, he should be livid after some of these offensive failures. He should be visibly upset to the point it may rub a few people wrong. Good QB's aren't afraid to show emotions, Henne is.

Yes charting henne's 4th quarters and i come up with this

11 games where we were ahead or way behind not tracked

(3) 4th quarter comebacks
(5) good 4th quarters where we were ahead and he led drives to ice the game and we won
(12) close games in the 4th quarter where we lost and he failed to lead winning drives

So we have 8 good and 12 bad in close games.

The strange thing is that early on in his career he was good with 5 good and 2 bad

Lately its all bad, with 6 of the last 7 games being bad.

I'd have to agree its time to move on from Henne. If he really had what it takes he would have gottens us 15 yards against the Browns.

I agree.

I also agree that there's no mythical "3rd down ability". Watch numbers of different QBs across the league. It all evens out in the end.

He did "choke", but there's no reason to see it as a characteristic. More like a non-predictive event.

That is the point here, Cleveland had no business driving the length of the field and scoring the go ahead TD with minutes left. The game should have been iced by the D, the same thing can be said about the Pitt game, the Saints game the NE game and and and....... we all thought the D was the strength of Miami and truth be told it is the liability that cost 2 of 3 games this year so far.

Henne isn't going to be Marino and Elway in terms of game winning drives, if Henne gets you the lead you need to hold on to it plane and simple. Henne will never be a great QB, good maybe but great no.

Stop blaming it on the defense. The Defense kept the browns under 20 points. Henne needs to get us some TD's. He sucks.

So did the D keep the Pats and Texans under 20 points? Last I checked with 3:23 left on the clock Miami was head in the Cleveland game and then with 0:43 left on the clock they were not. That is a choke a **** performance and if you want a direct assignable cause to the Dolphins 0-3 start look directly at the defense.

You want to blame anyone on the offense blame Carpenter and Marshal for leaving 10 points on the filed that would have sealed the game for Miami. 51 yard miss and a 1st and goal pass that Marshal should have caught for 6.

If Bush had took care of the ball and Marshall had caught 3 TD passes some of those numbers would be different and so would most of our perception on Henne.

He is not Elite but I think it is possible to win with him. Our offence as a whole has to do a better job.
