The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero mentioned Jaguars LG Zane Beadles as a player who could interest the Dolphins.
There's been no indication the Jaguars will cut or trade Beadles, but he is coming off a bad first season in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars added third-round G/C A.J. Cann and signed C Stefen Wisniewski to go along with second-year RG Brandon Linder. Beadles could be on the chopping block by the end of summer. The Dolphins are relying on unknowns Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner at guard.

Dallas Thomas is the first player that tempers my enthusiasm for the season ahead.

Crazy wasnt beadles one of the best guards in free agency last year

Makes zero sense to me.

Why add a player that was cut so fast after signing him from a team needing o-line so bad. He must be pretty damn awful. Or......., something like drug suspension on the way, etc... .

No upgrade there to me, plus, lets see what Douglas and Turner are about first before we go on a guard rampage. Some have written them off before they get one snap!!.

Chester is the better option. Nice veteran presence and doesnt have any issue but age.

I am really hoping the addition of Suh and practicing against him everyday will elevate the play of whoever is there! I am worried about that position as well....and Albert coming back!

Beadles was a top FA in 2013 and a Pro Bowler in 2012. Jaguars have one of the worst lines in football, giving up 71 sacks last year. He went from being great blocking for Manning to being bad on a bad line blocking for a bad QB. You have to think he is actually somewhere in the middle and would perform well between Albert and Pouncey. I would take a shot on Beadles over Dallas Thomas any day of the week. I will be ecstatic if we land him.

Any notion Beadles sucks simply because he gets cut needs to die. Dude was highly touted as a free agent last year. Why does he look bad with the Jags? Could be a bad scheme fit. Could be horrible sorrounding talent, maybe he was injured to a degree. Beadles is rock solid. Jags suck

if you bring in beadles you cut thomas and give yourself time to develop douglas if he doesnt outright beat beadles in camp...seems like an easy decision to me...keep in mind if dallas thomas is gonna be active depth on game day given you only activate 2 depth players he has to be able to play tackle in a pinch...and there's no way on this earth miami should ever ever ever put him out there at tackle again short of the entire starting line being mowed down by machine gun fire

that ability to play something else in a pinch depth wise is probably why jason fox is getting guard looks...not to start but to see if he'd be a suitable option from the 2 depth options to play tackle and guard if need be...

somebody depth wise has to be able to play center and the only guy that can do that is walton so would seem to me like he'd have a lead to be active depth over the others given this

i bet you can get beadles cheap too...his lateral abilities fit the scheme well...finesse left guard...

100%. Can you imagine how discouraging it would be going from blocking for Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl to a 3 win team in the Jaguars? Put this guy on an exciting team like Miami and watch him come to life, especially between two Pro Bowlers in Albert and Pouncey.

Beadles Jacksonville contract is misleading. He wasn't worth 30M, just like Julius Thomas isn't worth the contract he signed this offseason. Teams like Jacksonville and Oakland are forced to spend up to a minimum cap limit,
which is hard when:
1) none of your players are worth re-signing to a big deal (part of the reason you're 3-13 in the first place)
2) none of the top FAs (who are most likely leaving good teams) want to go play for the worst team in the NFL. Remember what happened with Revis in Tampa.

Its these factors that lead to a player getting grossly overpaid and held to such a high expectation going in. Most of these players aren't accustomed to playing for crap teams, now they have this inflated contract with the expectations that come along with that. Its a recipe for disaster.

If we are able to get Beadles on the cheap its a major score for Miami.

That's what I was saying about Eric Winston the last few years. But everyone here said he sucked cause he was constantly a FA.

I always liked Winston but to me it is a little different with him. I believe he is in his 30s and when is the last time he made a pro bowl? With that said i would like the guy as depth. What happened to him last year?

Offer a 6th and see if they bite?

I don't know if it will work with the cap though...
