Last year, the Buffalo Bills dealt with a full-blown quarterback competition and questions about who will start the season under center. Now, an AFC East rival is dealing with a competition between a young second-year passer and a journeyman veteran who has been around the league, including in Buffalo.

As Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen continue to battle for the right to be the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, Radio.com Insider Armando Salguero joined Schopp and Bulldog on Tuesday to give a deeper look on the competition under center and what the Dolphins are looking like heading into the 2019 season. Here is some of what Salguero had to say with Schopp and Bulldog on Tuesday:

We already knew just based on his age only that Fitzpatrick wasn't a long term answer at QB. He is stating the obvious obviously!!!

I cannot understand, in any way, why everyone isn’t rooting for Rosen to look like a franchise QB.

WTH?

Root for it. Why? There are no sure thing top 5 QBs. Ever. Just because you love the way a guy looks in college doesn’t mean he will succeed. What is the hit rate, even in the top 3? 15%???

That said, even if Rosen looks like a franchise, pick a guy if he is there at the right value. I would rather be in a Brees/rivers situation than tannehill/no-one situation.

Far too early to write off Josh Rosen. He has a good arm, high intelligence and determination. Yes, we have serious concerns with the O-line, but I don't understand the eagerness of some like Armando, to just immediately dismiss Rosen.
What exactly has Rosen shown so far that screams franchise QB to anyone right now? His rookie season was a mess and he doesn't look like he has made a dramatic jump entering season two.

Training camp and the preseason mean jack sh*t. Can the man play a regular season game in a Fins uniform first before critiquing him? Sheesh
