In the first half of the Carolina game it was 3rd and 18 and Gus threw to Sammy on an outlet pass and by Gad the guy looked like Tony Nathan. He EXPLODED when he caught the ball ran away from two and over one. We have not seen that since Terry Kirby and he looked unbelievable doing it.

On a seperate note - I have been saying this for months - especially when it was unpopular to say it:

Ricky will run like we have NEVER seen him run before :fire:. Expect Ricky to be an ABSOLUTE BEAST! Ricky has NEVER had a good head coach in the NFL and the offensive coordinators have NEVER put him in a position to do what he is about to do. I expect Ricky, Sammy and Ronnie to remind us  of Czonka, Kiick and Morris. Yes folks I am conjuring up the greatest backfield in Dolphin's history to compare what we are about to witness. We will have so much juice. We are going to JAM it down peoples throats ALL day long.

I'm getting a chubby thinking about this! :vault:

Sammy is great! He is not an every down guy, but when he goes in he always makes the most of it.

I wonder who will get cut when ricky comes back. Chatman, or Minor?

^chatman, hes not even active for the games... and minors been playing on special teams still

I just kind of happen to think that to have a huge 1-2-3 punch ground game like that you really need an OL that is better at moving people than we are.

I have thought from the start that it will take about half the season for the o line to realy hit its stride. And seeing they arnt playing that badly now.....

Chatman, Minor is too active of a special teams player right now.

One thing at a time. First of all we need to establish the ability to pass - pick up the blitz. We were atrocious at this task last season. A true humiliation to any true Dolphin fan. Wanny destroyed us with that MESS. We have succeeded in a big way in this category to date - A+.

Second Ronnie has missed some more obvious running lanes. He has danced a bit. I am not downing him at all - just highlighting that he is a rookie that missed a bunch of training camp.

Good running backs help make good offensive lines. I have seen the push by the O-line - it is there. With Ricky and Ronnie and Sammie we can wear teams out. We can make em play defense all afternoon. Remember last time we all saw Ricky in a REAL game was under Wanny with Norv as the O-coordinator. I remember growing up my friend would order vanilla at Baskin and Robins - Dude their are 31 flavors! That was a vanilla offense with NO toppings! So freakin boring and predictable. Teams stacked 8 in the box and dared Fiedler to throw it to Gadsden (40 timed on a calender).

Watch this: Prognosticators with their freakin heads spinning "well I did not think Ricky was really gonna be that good" - "wow that offensive line is doing a much better job" - "I thought Linehan went to Tampa"
Those idiots like Salsbury are gonna pay big time for being complete pathetic fools and I am gonna remind people about them all over this site. Crow is best served cold.

Tony Nathan remains my all-time favorite Dolphins RB... vastly underused...

I do not know that he was under-used but certainly under-rated. He was great. Before and during Marino. He was the consumate team player - along with Nat Moore, Duriel Harris, and later Duper and Clayton. He picked up the blitz, and was unbelievable on 3rd downs keeping drives alive!

I'm guessing Chatman thinks he'll be around awhile. He's in the process of buying a house right now.

Sammy Morris is the kind of player you want on your team. He's an instinctive, do-it-all guy who's just damn good at playing football. And he usually comes thru in the clutch when called upon.

I think you also need to keep in mind that the teams we have faced did a pretty good job against other oposing temas run game as well... Look at the game last night... The Bronco's kept the best run game in the the NFL in check

Ronnie was the firstto break 100 yards against the Panthers... so this line might just be a little better than what we are giving them credit for.

Tony Nathan was probably the 2nd most clutch 3rd down receiver we've ever had. Sammie Morris while a good player is what he is a 2nd option to a rookie. Funny how it is Ronnie that is supposed to explode with the ball on passes and he yet has to gain more than 20 yards in game receiving. I can;t wait until Ricky is back so that they so called fans can enjoy a real Star RB.
