Dolphins Homer
Hey all finfans. It is time for my Monday Hangover column...on Tuesday. It would have been up yesterday, but I spent the majority of the afternoon and night on the toilet ( don't ask ). Seeing how I am off work today ( due to said toilet problems ) I figured better late than never! So here goes:
-Big win on Sunday for Miami. The offense looked pretty solid and bailed out the defense for once. Sure, Schulters had the int, but this game wouldn't have even been close if the defense hadn't allowed Steve Smith to bend them over.
-Ronnie Brown loked like he had something to prove. He danced a little too much still, but the runs on the inside he seemed to hit with some steam and move the pile a few yards each time. Imagine when Ricky ocmes back and these two are lined up together in the backfield with McMichael, Chambers and Booker outside.
-Speaking of McMichael. He is going to have a career year. He may get less receptions than last year, but he will have more TD's. He has three so far and I wouldn't bet against him getting over 10. We need to use some of that cap room we have next year to lock him up.
-Chambers had a bounce back game. It never fails, hit him in stride and he will drop it. Throw it in an impossible spot and he will make the catch somehow. It is definately a concentration thing with him. The easy ones are so easy he seems to think about getting upfield before securing the ball. Hopefully we see the end of the dropsies for him.
-Zach Thomas is insane. The guy is walking around bleeding from his arms and making tackles on every dang play it seems like. He is always in position and even held his own in pass coverage. Was there anything more beautiful than seeing him dang near crawling on the ground to get the sack?
-Welker seemed a little off. Usually, he makes the first person miss. On Sunday, he seemed to run right into the piles for some reason. Oh well, at least he didn't hurt the team. He just had an off day.
-David Boston is in the dog house. I only saw him on the field for one play. I wouldn't be surprised if he is inactive for some games later in the season. I guess Saban wasn't happy with him in the New York game eh?
-If Boston goes, can he take Howard with him? This guy is making me yearn for the days of Fletcher...ok maybe not but still, he is bad.
-The pass blocking was great. Anytime you can keep Peppers and Rucker in check, you have done a heck of a job. I am not sure about the musical OT's that Saban plays, but so far, he seems to be pushing all the right buttons.
-Saban smashing his headset three games into the season shows remarkable retraint on his part. Anyone see if he grabbed his butt? I guess that is how you see if he is really mad or not.
-get well soon Ronnie, Junior and Tebucky. We need all three of you guys out there!
