Caught the butt-end of an interview with Satele on NFL Sirius today around lunch. He was being interviewed by Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan. I was a little ticked off because I could've caught it earlier if for not I was eating at Sonic. Satellite went out whenever I was parked under the roof! (I hate Sonic) He really seemed to impress Pat and Tim. I did have a sheet of paper with his Q & A written down, but my girlfriend accidentally threw the sheet away and I am not digging through the trash......although, I did look! (I hate my girlfriend)

** Questions and answers not verbatim **

(On being asked about a certain sweep/run play to the right and what he would do; this is with the NT in the gap between the C and G)

- (Satele) "I would hit the NT's shoulder into his chest and wait for my G to come around and take him out"

* Both Kirwan and Ryan seemed pretty impressed. I admit, I didn't know what the heck they were talking about because they were talking in "football language" only beknownst to NFL lineman. Something like "flat 6 or 7" ??? I was impressed

(On being asked about facing big John Henderson in the preseason opener against Jax)

- (Satele) "Have work cut out for myself, etc. I have low center of gravity, which works in my favor"

(On being asked on who is the strongest player he has faced in camp)

- (Satele) "Traylor. Man he's big. Been in the league like 14 years or something. Built like a truck. Fred Evans and dudes like that, Paul Soloai, are very strong, big NTs"

(On being asked on what he is going to do this summer)

- (Satele) "Me and a few guys in the league are going back to Hawaii to work out (Mentioned someone from Cincy). Just work on technique, etc."

* I think the other guy he mentioned was another Miami player? I do not know....

(On being asked about how Ted Ginn, jr. has looked)

- (Satele) "Oh man. He ran a (slant something?) and burned one guy from the line and smoked another after he caught it. He took two dudes...."

* He didn't mention who he burned, though, I was readily awaiting names.

After they let him go, they mentioned the Texans game (5th reg. season game) and the battle between Okoye and him. They were looking forward to it. Said that Satele is stronger, but Okoye is faster. Will be a good battle.

Hope y'all enjoy. Again, not verbatim, but I take great notes. Unfortunately, my paper got chunked. He got asked a couple of more questions, but I really can't recall too much.....

Thanks man. I'm excited to see him play. I've only heard good things about the guy and it continues.

I hope that he anchors the O-Line down for years to come

I'll have your Sonics (Cherry lime-aid with vanilla) and girlfriend if you hate them. :)

Thanks for the info and a great write up.

It's good to look forward to watching a high draft pick play on our O-line apart from Carey.

Been a long time since Miami had a great center the likes of Stephenson or Langer. Maybe we are seeing the next great Miami Center, I hope so.

I'm still stewing over San Fran jumping back into the first to get Joe Staley. He and Satele were my dream "2nd round picks". :fire:

But hey, at least Drew is impressing as well. As long as we get 2 starting OLineman from this draft, I'm great with it!

I can't wait to see this big man in action. I think he will be around for quite sometime and bring the kind of attitude we need on our line.

Dolfan2788 - How did you get that picture of me working out?

It's an interesting writeup but it doesn't excite me in the least. Only when I see Satele doing his job on the field will I be happy.

If he ends up being somewhat decent, I'll be happy. The question he was asked about recognition by Pat and Tim was a test (obviously), and he passed in their books (and mine); no hesitation on Satele's part.
