I think you're not far off base:
1) Satele could enter the offense as a FB on plays requiring a lead blocker, if he were not a starting linesman.
We would probably use the TE's on pass protection & catching the ball out of the backfield because that's Parcells' prefence. And, no matter how you look @ it, Polite is the man when you need a yard or two. However, like the Refrigerator of Chicago's past, I can envision Satele opening holes in certain offensive packages. Be advised: Mike Ditka's Refrigerator weighed in at 365 lbs (on a good day) not 285. Have to ask yourself: if Satele can't blow people away on the line, why would he be able to do it as a lead blocker. But I do think the potential is there. It's something to think about.
2) He has real value as a pulling guard, especially in the WildCat.
3) And is an extremely versatile offense linesman: LG & Center backup.
4) Satele may have the ability (if he gains size & strength) to regain a start on the offensive line in 2009. I don't ever want anyone to think I have a low opinion of his potential or ability to play. I simply think it is obvious at this point that he is not getting the job done @ Center. To be effective we need a FranchiseMonsterCenter to anchor the middle & drive the defenders off the ball after the snap. we need to find the right fit @ Center. Satele is, at best, a second consideration.:boohoo:
Parcells & Co. are very creative in utilizing talent, match-ups & systems. In the end, if all else, is not in sinc, they will utilize him in a deal to help the team with draft choices to fill another need. Everyone that is on this team will come & contribute.
