who will be our opening day d-line who will start?

imo-taylor,carter,trayor,roth

Taylor-Traylor-Chester-Carter with Carter rotating from De to DT, Vonnie and Roth switching it up at DE opposite of JT,

Pretty sure you hit it dead on with that one

if you want to listen to Kevin, in an interview he said that he'd be playing end-then moving inside to DT in obvious passing situations....so I'm guessing it'll be Roth and occasionally Vonnie (with Roth getting more PT) coming in at LE in that scenario

What about the 3-4?

You guys have been talking about who will start when we use the 4-3, but who should start when we use more of the 3-4 scheme?

Well for the 4-3 I say it will be Taylor, Chester, Traylor, and Carter. Holiday and Roth will be rotated in some parts of the game.

pass-
taylor,traylor,carter,roth
rush-
taylor,traylor,chester,carter

nice d-line in my oppinion!

then in our 5-2
taylor ,carter,traylor,holliday,roth
-have taylor and roth move to linebacker if they decide to put two te's and and obvious run play! like the pats!

again nice d!

There's a 5-2?

Thank you for confirming that. Too many posts around here slot Carter at starting DT even though he said the team asked his preference and he told them DE. Then DT in obvious passing situations, as you stated.

Count me as ABC -- Anyone But Chester.

yeah 5-2 is for nickelback coverage at times or goalline situations!
they can leave that formation to the 4- or the 3-4 with roth and taylor being able to rush off the corners! trickery!!!!

Here's the three scenarios I see:

Scenario 1

RE- Jason Taylor
DT- Keith Traylor
DT- Larry Chester
LE- Kevin Carter

Scenario 2

RE- Jason Taylor
DT- Keith Traylor
DT- Kevin Carter
LE- Vonnie Holliday

Scenario 3

RE- Jason Taylor
DT- Keith Traylor
DT- Kevin Carter
RE- Matt Roth

In my opinion, Scenarios 1 and 2 seem the most likely. I think Scenario 3 is a longshot because I don't see Matt Roth in the starting lineup right away. I'm really hoping for Scenario 1, and I'm hoping for Larry Chester to be back to 100% ready to go. But, I would have to Scenario 2 seems the most likely AS OF NOW.

vonnie holliday would put up very nice numbers opposite of jason taylor i like that scenario! well anyone of them would put up nice numbers opposite of jason taylor!

Have you guys completely forgotten about david Bowens, he only had like 5 1/2 -7 depending on source...He had more than any person you've name...the only other person I'd put ahead of David is Carter.

So if we start in the 4-3, I'd say JT, Chester, Traylor, Carter with Bowen rotating.
In the 3-4 I see Holiday, Chester\Traylor, Carter with JT at OL and D. Bowen. Roth can also be in this mix along with pass rush duties if the phins use:

Jt, Holliday, Bowens, Carter\Roth on 3rd and long situations.
