Here are the highlights of the day:

- The highlight of the morning session was a Beck pass he snuck in between two defensive backs for a deep completion over the middle to Derek Hagan.

- Greg Camarillo's one handed catch. If it was a real game this catch Camarillo made on a McCown throw would have been ESPN's No. 1 play of the day.

- Will Allen picks off redzone pass in 7-on-7. It was the final play of 7-on-7 drills and McCown was trying to sneak a pass behind Allen, who leaped in the air to get his second interception of the day. If only Allen could catch this well in the games.

- The Ricky Williams stiff arm. On an inside run during team drills Williams put on the after burner after getting past the front seven and stiff armed an unknown player in the secondary. He kept running for another 20 yards even though the play was stopped, and when he finally turned back there was Parcells pointing at him, mimicking his stiff arm, and then giving Ricky the OK sign with his fingers. He did it twice. It's safe to say Ricky Williams is Bill Parcells' favorite player on the roster. SAFE!

Whats wrong with this paragraph?

SO FAR I've concluded McCown throws the best deep ball, and is the most athletic. Henne has the rifle. He throws the 15 yard out with heat on it. He threw one pass so hard to Derek Hagan during a redzone drill it bounced off Hagans hands for about 10 feet.

its times like these that makes me wished that we had taken bowman as a f/a plus its times like these that m akes me miss good ole Randy Mcmichael and Wess welker.

lol yeah randy mac never dropped a catchable ball

^^^ haha once and a while the whole "awkwardly slamming the ball into your chest" catchign method works..

and Beck fumbled a snap in his first series with the third teamers.

Go figure.

Beck MIGHT be the most accurate, and he looks good on roll outs, but I'm growing concerned about his pocket presence considering the amount of would-be sacks he takes...

And I think this statement right here is the tell tale line. This is pretty much what Ive been thinking and saying. It is what leads me to believe its pretty obvious who our starter will be for now and who is being groomed to be the guy. Its pretty much all you need to know.

Look folks. I know Beck is your hero. But, you simply CAN NOT make an NFL offense go anywhere when you are taking sacks or fumbling snaps every other down. It just dosent work. If you dont believe me ask Nick Saban anytime after the first 4 weeks of his last season here watching Culpepper play QB.

Its as bad as it gets because your team goes absolutely nowhere. And you cant put points on the board if you cant even gain yardage and make first downs. And you cant win games if you cant put points on the board.

Look, McCown might not be great but he is DECENT. He also has some experience starting in this league. He also has managed to move some offenses from time to time when playing QB. Thats really what seperates him and Beck. McCown can move an offense and produce some points....Beck struggles with that. You know....holding on to the ball is critical. If he manages to do that not taking sacks is critical. You just cant even compete like that and its demoralizing to the rest of the team.

Along with his experience and his ability to sometimes move the offense and produce points, McCown is known as a big tough QB. Something Parcells obviously likes seeing how he harps about it all the time. Henne from all accounts seems to have this same characteristic and it was usually the first thing brought up during draft analasyst.

Look for McCown to hold it down until Henne is ready in the eyes of BP and the coaches. Either then or until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs(which hopefully dosent happen). At that point....look for Henne to step in and get some experience, unless he is deemed to be ready before then. Dont discount McCown stepping in and doing a decent job this year though and putting us in the mix. Dont sleep on McCown.

McCown threw an INT in the redzone--Go figure. We can all pick our things to promote our agenda too.

So let me get this straight, because I'm trying to follow your line of thinking and it is very difficult.

In the thread talking about the Rotoworld.com article that states John Beck is the front-runner, you completely discount that article and talk all this mumbo-jumbo about actions speak louder than words and they have to say nice things, and it's only rotoworld.com, yadda yadda yadda.

Now here, you're taking what a reporter is writing and saying how this proves why you believe McCown will be the starter?

So, whenever an article comes out that promotes your agenda you believe that to be evidence for your argument. Anything against it, you discout as just talking, what do you expect them to say, no factual basis, etc.?

Remember just last year how much these writers were giddy about the deep balls Beck were throwing?

I just can't believe how much you already throw Beck under the bus because of a rookie year in which he struggled in only 5 games.

My opinion-- We have 3 young, unproven QBs on the roster. We have a very competent organizational structure in place, all the way down to the coaches. They'll chose the QB who they believe will be best. I don't think there is any obvious choice, if there was they wouldn't be splitting snaps with the 1st team offense.

I think we are all guilty of this. I hate to find myself doing it, but i badly want Beck to win the job that i am happy to hear the others not doing as well so that Beck wins the job. It's sad i do it but it must be human nature somehow.

Sparano has made it perfectly clear that the QB position is up for grabs and they will pick the QB that performs the best. Not sure why we keep visiting this topic......:ponder:

Although true especially the last paragraph I hope we don't see this visited as an excuse to lose. Youth also means speed and endurance...just move the chains and the wins will come.

The topic of relentlessly trying to discredit one QB to make your personal choice at QB look better despite the original purpose or theme of the thread? Agreed. It is an old and tiresome topic. Lots of positive things to be had in the article besides ammunition for that topic.
