I have been watching video all day of our QB possibilities for next year. Matt Flynn did a good job replacing Rodgers when he needed to. However I do not think he is our man. The video I watched made me feel like he was taking advantage of the talent in GB instead of making it better. I would pass on Flynn because i don't think he is our best option, and he will be one of the biggest name free agents which means...... thats's right, bye bye cap space.
I woudld instead focus on getting another pass rush DE or OLB in the the first round and possibly Tannehill, or Weeden in the second round because I am sure they will be available. Both Tannehill and weededn make all the throws. Weeden is an amazing passer and seems to have the maturity of a top notch signal caller. Tannehill is also pretty good athletically, but I would worry that he doesn't show the killer QB instinct on the field all the time.
Last but not least, sign Matt Moore to a three or four year contract to allow for some friendly competition. Matt Moore did a very good job for us last year and i feel he is better than some QB's that were actually in the playoffs (ex. Flacco)

Weeden (Top realistic choice in the draft)

Tannehill(second choice)

If Philbin thinks he is right for his system, then I would go with Flynn as he already knows the offense Philbin will be running.

I like Matt Flynn. I disagree with the OP.

But you can't overpay him and handcuff this team with cap hell, especially with him being entirely unproven at this point, and not be able to afford upgrades at other positions. We already have some ugly contracts on the books (this front office has given out a few in recent years) and were 11th highest in the league last year for a team that stunk it up much of the year.

Yes Youtube links show everything you need to see. Whats your job with the Dolphins? Scout? Ballboy? Regardless if our new HC whos molded him from his 1st day in the NFL wants him I will follow that and if we dont persue him that should then tell you something. Weeden is 28 a bit old for fresh blood standards who was the last "Mature" , ready QB we drafted? John Beck, couldnt run him out of town fast enough. Tannehill is hurt & probably wont do anything at the combine. So 2 Rooks unproven. Flynn is 2 years younger then Weeden and has been a pro in this system that will be put in place. Now while it may be nice to speculate you dont need to slam the kid now and then jump on the bandwagon later.

This is where you are wrong. You don't run a coach's offense because his 50 year old a$$ is'nt on the field. A good coach runs the player's offense. Just look at the changes Denver made!

Love how you provide your highly qualified opinion immediately after writing that nonsense. Well done.

I think Flynn is good but good because of where he is. And the fact opposing teams have like no material on him to game plan for really. We can bring him here for a good price but we still need to draft someone in the 1st. I dont think Flynn does anything special tbh.

Philbin's desire to go after Flynn will tell me all I need to know about how good Flynn will be.

If reports stay the same (about us going after a hurt Manning) as the Free Agency period approaches, I would not have a lot of faith in Flynn.

If Flynn is not Philbin's #1 choice at QB, then that will tell you all you need to know about his faith in him.
