I have gone and watched every video I can find of Luck. No doubt he is a gifted athlete and a good QB.....but I don't see an elite NFL quarterback. Go back and watch everything you can find on Peyton.....you could tell even in college that he just had an NFL caliber mentality even in college. Peyton lacks his physical ability of course but there has never been a QB with the mental football genius as Manning. THAT alone is why he will go down as one of the greatest QB's of all time.

Again, Luck is very good......but I just don't see what everyone is creaming their pants about. I don't see a QB that can start in the NFL right away and make a team a contender. I agree that we need to be more aggressive and go after an elite QB but I believe you are all setting yourselves up for disappointment if you think we will be headed to the SB if we get this kid.

I'm all for drafting him to see what he could do but I wouldn't look at him as the great white hope for the Fins. Should probably a little more cautiously optimistic than just blindly give up our first born for him. I just don't see it as warranted.
 
You know, I thought the same of Cam Newton. I mean, Cam still has a LOT of room for improvement but the kid has been playing decent ball...
 
Right now the only thing that is going to change the culture of this franchise is leadership. We should be far more enthusiastic about a new head coach, than a rookie QB. Better leadership would get WAY better results from the current talent than what is being accomplished right now!!!

Suck for Cowher/Fisher/Gruden is far more appropriate!
 
I remember another can't miss college great that was a #1 overall....They just drooled over him until...Until...He got on the SD practice field.

LMAO...only on finheaven do we see this. Luck whos is considered THE BEST prospect coming out since Manning, getting rideculed by an average fan. Awesome!!

I wish people would stop bringing up the Leaf example. He failed for a very simple reason: he was a HOTHEAD. There is NOTHING about the Luck that would suggest he is similar to Leaf. He seems to be a student of the game, and quite intelligent, given his degree from Stanford. He is more similar to Peyton Manning than Leaf.

Manning was taken #1 overall that year. There were serious questions about Leaf's work ethic, intelligence, and maturity. The prospect from that draft that Luck is most similar to... is Peyton Manning.
 
Hey...Why would we pass up on a "sure fire" can't miss RT for a possible blank at the QB position?

Thats not the way this outfit rolls ...You all know that from experience so dream on

By all the CAPS you used I dont think Leaf is the only HOTHEAD around...Its cool though...We are all alittle edgy knowing its only 4 weeks into the season and our team has already been put to sleep.
 
There are no sure things at QB, but Luck is about as good as it gets for a prospect - the rest is up to the variables like coaching, scheme, development...of course all things that Miami has been terrible at lately. He might only end up being as good as a Ryan or Flacco, or he might be even better. But I'm not seeing a Leaf or Quinn or Leinart type of situation.

Why would I need to be a scout to state my opinion about what I see? Isn't that what everyone else is doing here when they state that he "is the man"?
That's the main reason I have the "opinion" logo on the thread. It is my opinion that there is nothing that I see that shows that this kid is any type of guarantee.

Again, I see that he is a great athlete and a good QB.

I couldn't agree more.

Tim Tebow was/is touted as the "greatest college football player of all time".....what has that equated to in the NFL. Does anyone seriously see Luck as making an impact in college as Tebow? Now he is a 3rd stringer.
