Schedual Rotation

After noticing our schedual was quite different than years past, I asked a few questions and someone at work said something about a Rotation of sort. I was told that every four years the overall order of which teams will play when shifts, or something of that nature. Is there any truth to this?

I tried to google it but came up with nothing, and I've never heard of anything like this, however it would explain alot. Does anyone have information or a link?

The teams that are ON the schedule is on a rotation and set for the next several years. WHEN those teams play within the season is completely arbitrary and set by the schedule-makers of the NFL in an attempt to keep good story-lines throughout the season.
