1. Could Manning move on? Hard to imagine Peyton Manning wearing a Miami Dolphins uniform. Or Peyton Manning playing for the Seattle Seahawks.
But it's not as farfetched today as it was at other times.
There's a lot that still can happen and it makes no sense to predict how it will evolve. But it's worth pointing out that the Colts can get out of Manning's contract after one year and $26 million without any other money being guaranteed, according to a league source.
Manning has a $28 million option bonus/non-exercise bonus in Year 2 that is due on the fifth day before the end of the 2011 league year, according to the source. But if the Colts cut Manning after Year 1, they pay neither.
It sounds crazy because it's Manning we're talking about. But he will be 36 years old next season, and if he can't play this year because of his neck and back injuries, then the Colts could be staring straight at one of the most significant financial decisions they will ever have to make.
They could be deciding whether to pay Manning the balance on his contract or to stick their necks on the line and decline the option bonus.

I dont think he will recover from this neck injury. I see him retiring or him playing for a year somewhere and it not going so well and retiring after that.

Yeah thats not gonna happen...

I dont think the colts would release him but the sense around the league is that this injury could force Manning to retire, but if he does get medically cleared and comes back healthy the colts could have a tough decision on their hands, do they stay with Manning and risk paying him the whole $90million contract and have the neck problem flare up again, or do they look to draft Andy Luck because lets be honest without Manning this team is going to win 6 games at best maybe even 4-12, that would put them in prime position to take Luck who is regarded as the best QB prospect in 25 years, if Manning gets released and is healthy he would only be 36 and would have a 2 year window to still be elite, this team is set up to contend and adding him would make us an immediate super bowl contender, elway played some of his best ball at 36 and 37, but this is all hypothetical but its fun to talk about lol

He's not going to retire and lots of football players have recovered from the same surgery just fine. He'll be back next year. It's hilarious how many times you people say this about players "he's done, he's not coming back, he's retiring" 90% of the time you're wrong so I don't get why you say just to say it. Probably wishful thinking.

BUT. What if they suck to the tune of 2 and 14 and have the 1st Pick? Whith the New rookie salery cap they could pay Peyton and Draft Luck. With the Guys we have on Offense if we Beef up the O-Line we could have a nice 2 to 3 year Run with him. I can Dream ....

Rofl, lockout or no lockout, his neck is ****ed up and he would not be starting. Has nothing to do with OTA's or anything missed due to the lockout.
He's saying if he had a full offseason with his normal doctors. After this, I don't think Peyton will be the same.

You misread. He didn't say he will be a Dolphin next year. He asked the reader to imagine Peyton Manning in a Dolphins or Seahawks uniform rhetorically, nothing more...

I would pass on him. I think that he will come back, but I think his play will be down from his prior form.
