:dolphins: Now, we are 7-7, our offense has had some big plays, something we have not had in the past. Does anyone feel Saban is going to give up on SL yet? I think he will be here and he will play a key role in bringing in some offensive free agents. I wouldn't rule out Culpepper coming to play here possibly, look at what he did under SL system. How about oakland cleaning house and dumping moss (wishful thinking). I think offensively, they are on the right track. Ricky and Ronnie, CC, McMike, etc. I think the biggest thing they need to do is spend some money on a QB, let Hudson work with the O-line more and I think this could be one of the top offenses in the league next year.

Thoughts on SL recently?:dolphins:

I never thought Linehan was as bad as some people were saying during the season. I always thought(and still do) that he is a great Offensive Coordinator. I knew that it would take him some time to find a rythem here in Miami and I am glad he did during this season. Sure, he had some bad play calls early in the season, but I like what I see from him now.

Saban WILL NOT give up on him and he will still be the OC in 2006(and hopefully longer). Saban just needs to continue to have him on the sidelines with him.

Linehan was way out of touch with what was going on in the games through most of the middle part of the season. The offense struggled to get anything going. There were also alot of weird plays called in key situations. Nobody was questioning it. Linehan was trying to get a feel for a bunch of new plyers in a new offense from the booth upstairs. It was obviously not working.

Saban's decision to move Linehan was one of the best decisions Saban made all season long. It definitely made an impact on the offense. Linehan was able to actually communicate with the players, and get a feel for what plays should be called to give the offense the best chance to succeed. The proof is in the win streak.

Linehan will be back next season. He will hopefully continue to call the plays from the sideline and continue to develop an even better understanding of what Miami's offensive identity will be.

Linehan is getting a better feel for what is working on the field since he moved to the sideline. I've got no problem with him since that point. I don't know if the goofy calls are less common, or whether they're working now that he can talk directly with the guys having to execute it.

I think the goofy calls are working this time around. The end of the Buffalo game is a perfect example. Chambers bailed Linehan out there. If he doesn't make that catch (and if PI didn't happen), we would all have been calling for Linehan's head.
I still don't think that we run Ronnie or Ricky enough, but the emergence of Chambers has more than made up for that. All and all, we are too predictable offensively (especially in key situations) to really pose a threat to beat a big-time playoff team. Maybe with some more time...

I don't think he'll give up on Scott. But I wouldn't want Culpepper. Too expensive and has butterfingers. Would be an upgrade but not worth it. Minnesota's actually better off without him. Plus, Arizona might bid more for him.

I agree totally. I never felt he would or should be fired after the season, nor do I feel he was brought down to the field from the pressbox, because Saban was upset with his play calling and was keeping him on a short leash. It's funny how better execution by the players makes the play calling look better.
