There is this continous argument on here about whether or not Ted Ginn gets open. This thread isn't about whether he sucks or not but what people have actually seen of him running his routes since you can't tell on TV. I went to the Patriots game and he didn't seem to have a problem getting seperation. So has anyone else seen what he can do in person?

I was just watching the Hou game on NFL Network and even on film I saw him get open a lot. When Chadwick threw his pick near the end of the game, Ginn was wide underneath and would have easily gotten the first down. We got the ball back but I'm just saying.

i was at the cards game live and i know i saw him get open a few times that I KNOW FOR A FACT you wouldnt have seen on the tv. cause he was deeper than where the play ended up going.......now i dont want anyone to act like im defending anything him either way i am simply answering what he asked nothing more nothing less...would love to know what others have seen LIVE ONLY

Any player can be open;however, you have to keep in mind a number of factors.

1. NFL defenders are fast and smart; therefore, a smart qb will not throw that ball if he thinks that the defenders are in position to disrupt the play after the ball sails across the air.

2. Route running is important, if the receiver is not in proper position to cross the route then the play won't work so he has to go for his next open option.

3. Getting open just after the ball snaps is different than getting open a couple of seconds after the ball snaps.

Belive me, If ted ginn ran precise routes, Im sure Pennington would be able to get him the ball.

Maybe Ginn should be a loud mouth like TO and I am sure he would get a lot more stat's. Then people would complain about that.... If Ginn was not producing I am sure this HC would put someone else in.. Ginn being a team player.. Maybe that's why BP didn't pull the trade for Roy Williams because he would have that problem?

We didn't pull the trigger on Roy Williams because Detroit wanted a kings ransom for a guy that's had one good year in a pass happy office. I can't believe Detroit got a 1,3, 6, and 7 for him. Jerry Jones clearly has lost his mind.

I have this crazy idea that the coaching staff has him running many routes, some of which Chad doesn't feel comfortable throwing, because they want Ginn to get practice running them all. There was one route that he ran on sunday early in the game where he was open but Chad floated the ball out of bounds because he didn't have the arm strength to hit Ginn in between the two defenders.

Im wondering what happened to that chemistry we were beginning to see between Chad and Ginn in the preseason.. ?

Bingo! It is Penny's arm strength that has limited his potential since Ginn excels at going deep. Hey its the best we can do with Henne not quit ready for prime time. Ginn will have to learn the shorter routes, Henning design plays to get him in space, and use his YAC ability.

I think it was against Arizona when Henne got some playing time. Ginn had been standing on the sidelines for a few plays while Chad was qb. Then Henne was put in and so was Ginn. I think it's possible that Chad isn't able to get Ginn the ball because of arm strength. The coaching staff might see this too.
