7. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have a nice blend of new and old in Channing Crowder and Zach Thomas. Crowder is an up-and-comer, and Thomas continues to play at a high level. There are few players in recent memory who maximize their natural gifts as well as Thomas, and Crowder has an exceptional role model to follow as he gains experience. Miami overpaid to acquire Joey Porter's services, but he is a good fit on the opposite side of Jason Taylor. Porter is not the force that he once was, but should be successful as a secondary pass-rusher with Taylor garnering so much attention. Taylor is a difficult player to classify, but for this project we are considering him a defensive end.

1-6
Chargers
Bears
Ravens
Patriots
Cowboys
Browns

There is no way our group is lower than the freaking Browns. Porter is still better than Mcginest, and Crowder and Wimbly wash out. Zach is better than Andra davis... I think 7 is a tad low...

Also I don't think this guy adjusted for the difference between 4-3 and 3-4 defenses. Because only 1 team in the top 7 is a 4-3 (bears)...

now thats a bunch of horse ****!!! we should be top 3 for this unit!!!

Wimbley ahd one of quietest strong rookie seasons I've ever seen(or 10 sack seasons for that matter). That guy is really good.

But yea, I think our LBs are better than the Browns.

Who are the Cowboys LBs??? No way were down at 7!

Chargers-Merriman and who?
Bears-Urlacher and who? Briggs in not going to play.
Ravens- I'll give yeah that.
Patriots-I'll give yeah that with a grain a salt.
Cowboys- NO
Browns- NO

None of those teams have better linebackers.......I've made the case that we should be ranked where we were everywhere else so I'm not a huge homer. I just believe these are wrong.

Seriously. The bears Won't Have lance Briggs till week 10, the Ravens lost Adalius Thomas, and the Chargers lost donnie Edwards. How can all of your top 3 units be worse than they were the year before?

If you count JT (and they should), we are clearly number 1. Miami isn't good at much, but the lB position is one of them.

These rankings are a joke. Browns? Cowboys? Give me a break.
Cowboys: Ellis, James, Ayodele, and Ware are better than Crowder, Thomas, Taylor, and Porter? Are you f#$%## kidding me?
JT>>>>Ware
Thomas>>>>James
Porter>>>Ellis
Crowder>>>>Ayodele

It's not even freakin close.

Clearly a dumb list

Sandeigo lost 2 of their ILB both gone,Edwards was their leading tackler and how they be no 1 by replacing them with their backups

Bears - Briggs will sign as lets face it he will be making 425k a week and will not leave it on the table.

Ravens - AD was a player who lined up every where and play cb/safety and DE so they did have 3 fulltime LB when he was in other position a slight dropoff maybe.

Pats - Improved for sure they replace willie mcginest [he was missed greatly the elephant OLB used by BB 3-4 schema ] with more speed .He was covering RB and running with them in space in training camp with them.

Miami- Improvement from spratan to joey porter.

Cowboys and brown :ninja:

I wouldn't even say the Pats. Vrabel isn't anywhere close to JT. Bruschi is not as productive as ZT and Porter has a more consistent resume than Thomas (?one yr wonder). I'll take Crowder over Colvin (never lived up to expectations).

Looks like the Scouts ma y be scouting high school teams...

We are far better than the Browns and I think better than Dallas. The ravens may have been top 3 with Thomas but he is gone now so that should drop them...We may be a wash with N.E. but we are better than them but not by a huge margin

With the addition of Porter, and JT also playing some linebacker should push our unit to top 4 at the least

What does what we paid for Porters services have to do with where our Linebackers should rank?

It is also a joke to not consider JT a linebacker in this "exercise", JT won defensive player of the year as much for his skills as a linebacker as he did for being a DE.

Just another way to screw the Dolphins and rank down one of the very best units in the league.

San Diego also has Shaun Philips who is pretty good, but their ILB are underwhelming no way they deserve #1.
