i read that many teams feel that wilson cant play FS thats why no one signed him b/c hes more of a SS and that when the giants let him go after playing FS was bc he wasnt anything special to keep.

i know last years FA pick ups sucked *** but for sparks and smiley i guess i hope wilson doesnt fail as well. just a heads up on what scouts and teams are saying regarding wilson.

playing him out of position may hurt us.
 
i agree... he is more of a strong safety, but does have talent in coverage and making palys on the ball. he will need some work, but he is defintiely going to contribute in many aspects of the game, including against the run and helping stepping up for tackles into the middle.
 
With only $8 million in guaranteed money to a guy who put up great numbers last year and is still only 27, I don't think this signing hurt us at all.
 
He can't do much worse than Hill. Hill was average at best.
 
and yet he played well with the Giants when he was at FS.
 
He was a productive player at FS for a Super Bowl champion. And don't forget, Tom Coughlin is a Bill Parcells guy. There is no way we brought in Wilson without consulting with Coughlin about him.
 
we'll find out whether he can play FS. he did a good job for the Giants in 2007. i don't think we're done at S though. i'm expecting us to bring in another one, probably through the draft.

one more thing to add, Wilson is a nice security option if Bell gets injured. he can slide over and play SS as well, which increases his value IMO.
 
i do think we draft a S and it'll be for bells replacement most likely.
 
lol... funny thing is i agree with what he posted....

but what you said and posted i disagree with. its about words and wording maybe, but your points have been coming across as poor.

I am not too happy with the move of resigning bell to Strong Safety and moving Wilson to FF where I don't think he will play at his best.

you are exactly right... but it won't be because Bell isn't good enough to perform but because he is old.

A prospect to groom into the future of the Dolphins.
