Apologize if this was already discussed in the post game thread. I didn't see the topic in any other thread.

Has anyone counted up how many screens we attempted yesterday? I thought I counted double digits, but not 100% sure.

That is way too many in my opinion. Maybe it's because the Jags D wasn't giving us anything else, but there were some screens that got blown up, so not sure why we kept running and throwing them.

We've been in love with the WR screen for 20 years., no matter the coach or offensive system. I can only assume it works great in practice against our defense, so they put it into the game plan assuming other teams will cover it as bad as us.

I certainly hope they were holding something back for Buffalo. I thought for sure McD was going to come out of the Lab with some new stuff. Jax was not fooled by anything. Dolphins had to beat them straight up.

Mostert and Achane total.

9 catches for 86 yards.

That's why we run them.
39 of those came from 1 play, the third play of the game. Context.

So 8 catches for 47 yards. Many of those were also negative AND used on wildly innapropriate down and out positions. Side note, you also didnt include Hill in these numbers, when he received a bunch of these behind the LOS screens. Weird.

Tua threw 14 passes behind the line of scrimmage and another 13 between 0-10 yards.

Thought the a screens were executed pretty well.

Especially by the Qb.

Achane and hill are gonna hit on those watch
I'm sure they will eventually, but they have to be used at the right time. The initial 39 yard screen was great, it was used right at the start when they had no clue. JAX instantly adjusted and never let it happen again. They absolutely have their uses, but its like McDaniel zooms in to his playbook and focuses on a couple of plays that seem to have worked previously and just hammers the A button. Get the corners moving backwards and these plays will work, they will not when the corners press and all we have is a WR/TE or two blocking.

I don't know why people can't see this.... Buffalo about to get the full menu on Thursday. We showed nothing, dropped a few bread crumbs, did we had to do and got the "W"

It appeared McDaniel was force feeding his RB's, screens passes, hoping to get them into space to utilize their skillset. A new wrinkle in McDaniel's system? In theory Achane can take one to the house on any given moment. But unfortunately the timing on most attempts, wasn't perfect. Some passes were batted others didn't get much yardage.

I was honestly looking forward to Achane out wide, but wasn't expecting WR screen plays. I get the theory behind the concept. But teams like Jacksonville are aggressive in stopping those types of plays. I hope this doesn't become the norm. It killed the offensive flow at times yesterday.

Hopefully there are better designs ahead for RB group.

It total, they work.

Indeed, not only did they give us a bunch of yards, these plays also keep the defense forward-- looking for these plays... which opens up the deeper routes.

Oddly... too many brothers miss this.

Not only that but people are acting like we are still coached by Flores and Brissett is throwing WRs screens in the endzone. Hello? Has anyone watched the last couple years? No one throws the ball down the field more that the Dolphins. We already have to fight the Stephen A's of the world who say Tua throws two yards and Waddle does the rest.

The new wrinkle will be Jaylen Wright. He has more lateral agility than Mostert and Achane.

Mostert and Achane are straight line runners. Get them the ball at full speed and they will feast.

Wright is the truest RB on the roster.
