We are ranked number 3 in the division BELOW the Jets. Hell will freeze over before I start rooting for my Phins to loose out in order to get a good draft spot. Besides, our draft picks end up sucking...we'd probably get another punter in the 2nd round so we can run the Wild Punt a few times a game.

I agree with what you're saying about not tanking the season....but going as far as to say our drafts have sucked is a little far....our last 2 drafts have produced more starters then any recent previous drafts......question is, are these guys that good or was our roster really just that bad?

So far this regime has picked better in the draft than in FA. Ernest Wilford was a huge BUST, Justin Smiley can't keep a starting role and the linbackers like Torbor are backups. For a team to really improve you just have to get lucky in the draft and hit with a FA. It does take a bit of luck. Maybe next year.

I always laugh when fans say they want their team to lose to get a higher pick. Good players can be found anywhere and the draft is littered w/ busts. I remember at the end of '05 jet fans wanting to lose so we could get a better pick to get Reggie Bush. Thankfully we didn't gte him and now we have an excellent LT and got a BETTER version of regiie Bush a few rounds later in leon Washington.

You should ALWAYS root for your team to win.

I completely agree. the Steelers, Colts and Patriots seem to do well picking late every year

Yeah, I don't know if I could ever root against my team just because we would get a better draft pick. For the most part, good players can be found all throughout the first round and even much later in the draft including the last few rounds. Sure, come the actual day of the draft, I would love for my team to have the choice of picking any player they want(like in 08' when we got Pro Bowl LT Jake Long) but there is no way I am going to root against my team just to move up a few slots.

As to bobw999's statement that our draft picks end up sucking, that is simply not the case anymore. For the most part our drafts in the past have been very disappointing and were the ultimate reason why we had bad years in 2004, 2006 and 2007. Despite drafting some very good players(Vernon Carey and Ronnie Brown) the drafts before Parcells were pretty bad. You could say that half of the 18 picks that were made are making a pretty strong contribution to this team at this moment and some still have potential.

We have nine draft picks in next year's draft, so we should have the chance for another strong class. Don't root against the Dolphins ever, but like I have been doing all season, I have been rooting against the Chiefs and Redskins. We have an extra 6th round pick from Washington and an extra 6th and 7th round pick from the Chiefs. Sure they are later rounds, but you can root against those teams to improve your draft positioning.

They are only ahead because they just played a Thurs. game. If we beat NE, we're in 2nd place again. You do know if we beat NE, NE will only be holding 1 game over the NYJ and Miami. Miami and NE would be 4-2 in the division (Jets 3-3) and it will be a horse race. Don't forget, NE is 0-4 on the road.

I laugh even harder at fans who think that who they root for or what they want, it is going to make a difference.

I agree with what you are saying, but if we beat NE, we would be 4-2 in the division, NE would be 3-2 because they still have to play BUF in Buf.

well this is a debatable topic because if you listen to sports shows and all a lot of people feel that if you are not going to the playoffs then you should try for a top 10 pick.

I want WR Dez and Cornerback Perrish COX and dt Swanson Miller and that is all I will lobby for. oh wait and rb Keith Toston .

If we finish behind the ****ing jests I would rather we forfeit our 1st round pick. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. You ever find yourself rooting against your team winning you need to question why you're a fan in the first place.

I bet the JEST fans were real happy with that Vernon Gholsten pick too.

I AGREE. I RATHER GET GOOD RATINGS IN MADDEN 2011 THEN A GOOD DRAFT PICK.

no joke. so i could finally start winning with my dolphins.
