We all know they will be our starting cb's this year and I really think Sean is better against the bigger taller wr's and Will Allen is probally better with the shorter quicker wr's. I haven't seen them switch sides in pre season, Do you think they will do so to get the match ups they want in the regular season? I would rather have SS on R Moss and WA on Wes Welker then vice versa.

Eventually i think they will line-up depending on the person their covering. If smith's locked on the bigger receiver then IMO he will shadow them the entire game. Also IMO, don't be surprise! especially if he continues to show ball-hawing skills, teams throwing alot more at will allen!

i think will allen will be exposed this year and i think he will look very poor this year just becuase the amount of times the ball will be thrown his way.

I agree.. We'll see how good he really is !

you guys better watch that tone! there are many on the board that are very sensitive about Will Allen! i think that second string WR from TB just got another first down on Mr. Allen!

lol. i could say something bad about nick saban or cam cameron and someone will get angry about that. cant make everyone happy.

Smith will have his growing pains. To assume he will scare the likes of Manning, Big Ben, Brady, Rivers and Brees is abit of a reach IMO.
Throw in the targets of those qb's and a rookie won't scare anyone on those respective teams.

I would hope that Smith would be on the taller/physical receivers as Allen has proven that he cannot cover them under any circumstances. Then again, there aren't many in this league who can...But, I'm hoping Smith can, or at least make the qb think twice before lofting one up.

I don't know. He may not have the experiance in the NFL to be very affective on Randy Moss etc. If he did, we'd probably give him safety help 75% of the time.

And he's earned this reputation from 4 preseason games?

i agree it wouldnt suprise me at all if Vontae became the starter later on in the season

Allen does have his weak points, but the guy is rock solid. I have seen him in on a lot of pass deflections and breaking up passes in key situations. If the guy hand even half way decent hands, he would have six picks a year.

the secondary so far hasnt shown much in preseason but i believe we made a huge upgrade in that department and it will show in the regular season. will allen is great for being around the ball and breakin it up so is bell, smith and gibril.. I think we will be alright...
