After Sean Smith becomes a veteran and learns his CB craft, should the Dolphins use Sean in goal line situations as a jump ball WR? I think this guy is too much an athletic freak to just play corner. I think once he is comfortable at CB, I think he needs to get some plays on Offense as a specialist WR. Any thoughts?

I totally agree, the kid is a PlayMaker big time. Excellent observation, maybe not this season but next year for sure.

i think it would be a good gamble for them, and its not even really a gamble. you know the kid has ball skills, and hes got the height to outjump anyone in the endzone. knows how to use his body to gain leverage, i think it would be a good idea.

Um ... how about we let the man focus on playing CB.

agreed i mean teddy bruskeey (spelled wrong hes a pat) would come in on situations WHY NOT US

Like clockwork, I knew there would be someone like you that says "let the man focus on playing corner". If you saw my post, I said AFTER he learns his craft at CB. Please read next time. thanks

He claims that if he stayed at WR he'd of been a sure top 10 pick. He's definitely got better size and ball skills than any receiver on this team. I say try it out in goal line situations.... immediately.

Definately not this year, maybe not next year, but by year three i see no reason why throwing this simple extra work at him wouldnt work. Could really help the fins.

theres no "after he learns his craft at CB" ...

its not like: ok its been 3 years, im as good as im gonna be, time to focus on the next position...

id prefer to leave him in every day, every practice working on corner and working on getting better... i think its more his maturity at letting him try different things and how it would effect his preparation thats the primary concern... there is no AFTER he learns his craft, NFL players work on their craft every day to keep getting better...

id personally not even bother...

I get what you're saying Arsenal but a jump ball situation wouldn't even require much coaching or time. He'd just have to line up, make sure he's not off the line, jump and catch the ball the same way he would if he were defending.

We do have some tall guys in Turner and Haynos. JT caught a couple balls a few years ago.

CB Deion Sanders caught some balls, a long time ago. It would be a neat experiment putting a bunch of 6'5"+ guys on the field for a jump ball.
