Seau to Retire Monday!

A source said the Chargers wanted to sign him to a one-day contract. But the team would have to put a player on injured reserve or cut a player in order to keep within the required 80-man roster limit.

Does that mean the they're not going to sign him to a one day?? It's their 80 man roster, they have to get down to 53 in like a month. There has to be someone who's expendable so they can honor the greatest play in chargers history to ever come play for the dolphins.

That's just what I wanted to read; Seau will retire as a Charger as it should be.

Next stop...the Hall of Fame on his first year of eligibility.

Good point...

You would think they could get a roster exemption for one friggin day. :shakeno:

There are a bunch of a-holes in the Chargers front office from the looks of things if this really is true.

If they won't let him retire as a Charger than I'm sure Wayne H. would be more than happy to have him retire as a Phin.

Edited:

After reading the article again I think he should retire in the off season when he can hold a roster spot.

Yeah and would you believe that the 49ers did the same crap to Jerry Rice last year? I mean CMON two no doubt hall of famers and you can't make an exception for someone of their stature? Gimme a break. :shakeno:

forget the chargers ...... retire wit the fins my man

One of the greatest LB's I have had the chance to watch LIVE, definite first ballot Hall of FAmer. Had hope for him to comeback to us one more year, but I respect his decision. He is a really great guy and I mean a Standout in Community Service. Good Luck to u Junior, keep doing your thing.

Why don't they sign him to a one day coaching contract at least, letting him retire that way? Surely, there is something they can do as a show of respect for Junior.

yeah i agree, i think harrison should do the same thing as seau and retire a charger, they both had awesome careers in SD.. i wish junior the best in life

Does this mean my "55" jersey is more valuable now?

Seriously, glad to have had you on the team, Junior, I wish it could have been longer. Next stop, Canton.
