Isn't that what he had last year? I'm a Seau supporter but if he's going to be injured all year it might be time to consider just starting a young guy. I mean he had 6 months to heal...

I don't know if that is what he injured last year, but i am starting to get worried about him. I didn't even know that he was injured. Hopefully he will be ready to go in the next few weeks.

He tore a pec last year. I wouldn't worry too much. His is a conssumate professional and extraordinary athlete. If he needed too he probably would practice. My guess is he is much more helpful right now coaching and observing than taking the spot from a young guy. His instincts are awesome.

His calf will be fine. It just needs time to heal.

I agree. If there was a regular season game tomorrow, Junior would be playing. Nick is just showing that he knows how to handle a highly proven veteran in training camp.

seau has had a great career but he's definitely starting to get a little old and the body is wearing down hence the injuries, but if he healthy enough to start... I definitely want him out there b/c he still makes plays.

The thing is now we have the linebacker depth that Seau isnt needed to play every down and in Dime and Nickel schemes. You can tell he is breaking down but that would be expected at 36(?). I think that he will be better than the past two years just because I dont expect him to be used up and can come out with pure energy and not get used up after the first half.

Geez, we're a day into training camp, one guy slows himself down the slightest bit and some of you want to cut him because he's too old. It's training camp...you really think Junior Seau needs training camp to learn how to play? The idea is to escape it all safely.

Junior is old, and I'm afraid this may be the last go around, but he's fine. I havn't heard anything serious about the calf, just that it's strained and he sat out yesterday. No big deal, he's still been working with the young guys and from some of these awesome Training Camp reports, seems like he's become a player/coach. Maybe he has a future after football as an LB coach. One of Junior's idols was Mike Singeltary, isn't he a LB coach somewhere?

Junior is in great shape, but injuries are starting to become a problem. I hope he doesn't have this calf injury nagging him for the whole season, i mean he was having a very good season until he got hurt last year. I still think he can be a very good LB in the NFL, but only if he's healthy. Little injuries like this can be the worst if they persist and i dont want to see that happen.

which "young guy" do you think could take his spot? even if he was at 50% hes still better than the other LBs.

I have a feeling this will be Seau's last hurrah as a player.

But I bet he'll make a great coach! I'm looking forward to that.
