1. Culpepper has a gun:

Not only can he wing it, he has nice touch as well. We are in good hands. Didn't see any limping and he was pretty mobile even if it was running for his life early.

2. Harrington looked Good:

He probably checks down too much but he was in command and made the right reads for the most part. Didn't see the happy feet for the most part. He throws a dart. Seemed really pumped and very comfortable even under the rush. Hard not be be enthusiastic watching this guy. You can seem how much he loves to play. Detroit must have been some kind of hellish experience to get this guy so down. I was on the fence with Harrington, I'm not anymore. I like 'em.

3. Big daddy was a factor.

Forget the sacks for a minute. Tampa was forced to put two guys on him during most of the plays (which didn't stop him). That maked a big difference and frees up other guys. Oh, there was a Roth sighting. He had what looked like a sack as well. Dline is deep.

4. Ronnie Brown is ripped.

The guy is strong as a tank, but I find myself wishing he would try and run around some of the defense instead of through it. On another short play he doesn't slide to the hole, but rather bulls into the LB. A good play (1st down), not a big play, which seemed possible. I wonder if he will get over the He-Man complex and read the blocks more as the season develops.

5. Where are the long passes?

I know Mularky wants to work the field, but not much over the top until Harrington took a couple shots. Then nothing at all. Shame really. We have some good receivers and 3 Qbs with big arms. I know Dante throws a nice deep ball. At some point you have to work down the field. We seem to like slants and outs.

6. Rader who?

Showed some outstanding hands for a TE. Thought he was Wes Welker on one play. Holds on after the hit as well. GUy went a long way to making the team during this game. Not sure about his skill as a blocker, but you can't teach hands like that.

7. Is Beasly Toast?

Watching Barnes absolutely blow up a LB made me not only chuckle, but wonder how we could cut such a monster blocker. Two FBs? I doubt it. Fred better show soon.

8. WR Derby?

Who is in and out? No idea, but there are more than a couple players that can play in this league that are going to get cut. My guess? I thing Gibson might stick. They gave him a real long look early in this game. Vick didn't do much but got in on the return game. He might stick as a project.

9. Jason Allen Gets Chewed Out.

Yeah, that was our first round pick getting schooled by 3rd teamers. Don't lose any sleep. Allen is being asked to learn two positions and clearly made a mental error in not covering the corner route when he should have had the outside. You can't teach speed, but you can teach tecnique. Saban almost bust a gut. That guy is intense. He needs to find his happy place.

10. Coaching and Adjustments.

Team really responded to some bad play early. Got to like that. OL started off poorly (Anderson, SHelton) but pulled it together. So did the D. Team is clearly well coached asnd adjusts. Like the various blitzes used to confuse Sims after that first drive. More running at the D to negate quickness. Smart coaches make players look good.

Thanx for the info.
As far as deep passess are concerned, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure we'll see more next week. Its the preseason. All teams are very vanilla in their offense now.

Fun to read. Some good points. But too much credit to Culpepper and Brown. Brown had a good game - better than Culpepper. Culpepper took another step, but still has a ways to go.

Yea I mean, he definetly is not in midseason form . . but I think most fans are optimistic that with the talent he has on this team he will succeed. The main concern is that knee and to see him move around a bit, shake off the rust and then lead that monster drive . . which had a few nice third down conversions was real impressive. He has the tools, he needed to face a pressure defense like Tampa's, I think he will be fine . . not to mention we probably aren't running alot of the plays that we may see against the Steelers. But like the summary said . . this was another step, a big step IMO and he succeeded . . wtg CPep.

Nice post, finally da Phins are set at the QB position. Both our #1 and 2 look good

Culpepper did have a slight limp in my opinion. That being said, he took the hits and was hard to bring down. He did look good.

The Bucs run one of the best cover twos in the league and were in the backfield pretty quick.

Take what the D gives you, which was short and medium passes.

culpepper looked great. people forget that he isnt supposed to be ready by midseaon. lol fred gibson is a big surprise, he looks fantastic. if he can keep it up he should make his way into the top 4

Nice post with good points. I would like to see the long ball more also.:dolphins:

Also our secondary needs to stop giving up the longball.

when big daddy wants to play he can take over a game. much the way reggie white could. The problem is he gets lazy from time to time.
