Ok so its very obvious all the moves we have been making to make our offense better, but with that said it wont matter if our secondary continues to get blown out... what do you think are moves are from here till season opener to solidify our secondary?

We're probably set for this year. I don't think there's any upgrades out there at this point in the season.

Depending on how the year plays out though, next year we'll probably be looking to upgrade 1, if not both, safety positions, and with Sean Smith going into the last year of his contract, possibly a new boundary corner to replace him. Richard Marshall I like though, I think he's a significant upgrade at nickle back over Sapp/Will Allen.

Seems like we are rolling with smith and vontae. I'm betting Jones and Wilson play.the two safety spots with.Marshall on the nickel. SHould be interesting

Our day 1 starters in the secondary are already on the roster. Vontae, Sean Smith, with Richard Marshall at nickel (very excited to see him play), with Jones/Clemons/Wilson/Culver battling it out for 2 safety spots, that I think Wilson and Jones will win. Doesn't sound too intimidating but they really came on strong in the second half of 2011, and Kevin Coyle seems to get the most out of his defensive backs so I'm optimistic.

I thought secondary was the most troubling in the first half of the season.

Our secondary will look 100 times better if we can muster any kind of pass rush on the QB. While our secondary had its moments, how many big plays happened because they had to try and cover their guy(s) for 7-10 seconds

We didn't have Clemons last year(injuries). We will be set with Jones and Clemons starting and Wilson getting some substitution reps.

Clemons will bring the closing speed to break up plays that we lacked all last year.

Our secondary was bad in the first half of the season due to lack of workouts so people were in bad shape. With the additions of marshall and having wilson out there at safety we should do good. Davis and Smith can do a good job out there, our safety's needs to step up and we gotta have that pass rush going.

We got a bit of flexibility with both R.Marshall & Jimmy Wilson, with both playing FS previously. I think Marshall will play as 2nd corner while Smith will play nickel. Clemons and Jones as Safetys.

There are several factors at work here. First, we weren't good at pressuring the QB. No CB can cover forever. Second, acquiring good DBs isn't that easy anymore. You either need to draft them or overpay in free agency. If our offense was in better shape we could have either traded up for Barron or Gilmore, or back for Jenkins or Kirkpatrick. As things are DBs weren't in our wheelhouse this draft. We had a lot of holes to try to fill, and we've done well so far.

Marshall as nickel CB/FS, Jimmy Wilson at FS.

We're not winning **** this year, so it'll be nice to see how they turn out.

i think we kinda upgraded in a way. bringing marshall in is a upgrade over allen. we brought that saftey in from minn, who has struggled but coming to miami he will be playing the same scheme he played in college and strived in. and ss, yeah we last a good run stop ss in bell but his coverage was awful. it was just time for a change. and switching wilson to fs is a huge move imo.

There was 0 chance we would have drafted Jenkins in any round. Bad character guy which Philbin doesn't want on this team.

Richard Marshall is our best free agent pick-up by far
